Another set of lyrics I picked up that were not used on FiftyNinty. This time by Kristi.
The harmonica features again on this one. If you have a banging harp player available it would be a sin not to use him.
V1
I could taste the salty air
Before I saw the beach
Excitement building in my bones
Just one day to be free
Rolling waves were so inviting
And our hearts were young
Ready for some adventure
It was all about the fun
We promised we would stay in touch
But the years they blew by
T
o see you now, I realize
How much I treasure those good times
[ch]
Tell me my old friend
What do you remember
Those sweet summer days
Will stay with me forever
I smile even now
When I think of how we played
Tell me my old friend
Tell me old friend
V2
We made faces in a photo booth
Ate hotdogs on a stick
Ran across the smooth hot sand
Beat the tide if we were quick
We watched the band on the pier
And became their biggest fans
You were friendly I was shy
But you got me to dance
We promised we would stay in touch
But the years blew by
To see you now, I realize
How much I treasure those good times

I think the vocal layers sell this well. The honkin' harmonica ain't too shabby either.

I am hooked on the harmonica.
Lovely lyrics. The music and vocals fit the lyrics really well. Nice collab!

The harb it's just an awesome addition to this production...just enough spice to make it tasty...hats off to him. Also those back up vocals are killer, especially when the BGV falls off and the harb takes over ...your rockin FAWM this year my man.

Oh how great to hear this with music now! Great surprise! You've captured the emotion/feel of the lyric so well! Those thoughts pouring out, harmonies...It's a catchy melody and the harmonica adds another layer to it all. Thanks so much!!

Great song. Very enjoyable to listen to. I love songs with harmonica and it's a perfect choice here

Really enjoyed this journey. Love the harmonica right out the gate. And the full band production sounds great - lovely flowing feel to the song with captivating chord changes, reminded of Supertramp several times.
Always great to here the quality of Kristi's lyrics brought to life.
Gotta go listen to it again now!
Splendid collab, guys :)

This captures the nostalgia very well, and I’m digging that harmonica.
