Threw the lyrics together in 20 minutes, this will be my obligatory sad song.
Fighting with ghosts
You haven’t been around in a while
Your picture fades
Sometimes I cry
Sometimes I smile
Sometimes I’m fine
Sometimes I think I lost my mind
You haven’t been around in a while
I find the times I laugh the most
Is when I’m all alone fighting with some ghosts
You haven’t been around in a while
Haven’t spread your ashes
Guess I’m still holding on
Movin on
Going…going…gone
I get along
You haven’t been around in a while

#tit4tat yes, sad tale, references to mental illness, relationship issues, all good fodder here. The repetition over and over also lends to the ongoing nature of this sadness. Very relatable images, and the music plays well with the lyric.

Great atmosphere created in the intro. Spoken word works really well over the instrumentation. Reminds me of Lou Reed too. In a really good way.

I’m really feeling this song. Lyrics are super relatable and this Lo-fi beat just matches perfect.
@spazsquatch Feb 2022
The lyrics in that hook are fantastic. Simple, but evokes so much.
@nikopee Feb 2022
Tough lyrics, relax song. Oh yeah, I could listen to this many times in a row.

"I find the times when I'm laughing the most is when i'm all alone fighting with some ghosts"
This got to me. Not gonna go into personal stuff on this public forum, but just....yeah, I feel that and the entire weight of each word in my own life.
Ok - production stuff cause I can't talk about the lyrics - I feel I don't even have to say much at this point.
Guitar adds further emotion; perfectly done there and also seated in just the right spot in the mix.
All the music choices were tastefully done as if to be respectful to the subject matter.
Out the park again

Ok, heard the music this time! I like the eerie notes and the vocals! Has a dreamlike quality!
@womanaclef Feb 2022
Love the tension between past and present and the TRUTH that grief is not linear…at all. Sad but there’s hope in there too. We ARE collaborating!
@richaaaay Feb 2022
This is a fitting tribute. Honest, authentic. Musically, some wonderful stuff is happening here. Those harmonics (I assume) and the chill perfectly placed bass notes intertwined with the drum/beats, the dynamics coming and going, the refrain, etc. Powerful lyrics that say everything they have to say.
@wolfkier Feb 2022
Good to see you back and making great interesting music.
The inner termoil is palpable, and spoken word was a great choice to lead into the syncopated vocal. Well done. Enjoyed much.
Thanks so much for your kind words earlier! Much appreciated.
@ferry0123 Feb 2022
Emotion and coolness packed in one song. That's what I like about it a lot in here. That bass in the chorus is a good fit. Way cool.
@davidtaro Feb 2022
This moved me in a way that I have rarely been moved. The repetition of the hook becomes almost hypnotic, and the whole vibe is just so laid back and darn cool. You do this type of track so well dude!
@codeenergy Feb 2022
SadBoi legend strikes again!! This is so beautiful man. You have such a good knack for song writing.
@mahtowin Feb 2022
Another hip-hop spoken word track! So cool!
I love the ghosty way the guitar sounds and the beats come in! Great!
@devslev Feb 2022
Like the sing/talk voice style, reminds me of a slow walk of "Life is a Bitch and then we die...." of NAS' Life's a Bitch- great 20 minute tune!
@xfloorpunchx Feb 2022
I really loved it! The chorus part made me think of the famous Lou Reed song "Walk on the wild side". Really a dope song, mixing a lot of various elements ! Congrats.
@gm7 Feb 2022
Great lyrics and production for a 20min write. SOLID !
@wacha Feb 2022
I LOVE the intro, that guitar really sets the tone for the song and compliments your vocals and sets a great vibe for the song. For a 20 minute lyrics write, they are solid. That chorus both the vocals and bassline are catchy as hell contrast the verses really nicely.
@thefuneralcrasher Feb 2022
Great song! That "haven't spread your ashes" line knocked me out!
@sw1n3flu Feb 2022
lofi, chill.
And BADASS - the chorus sends a message that resonates man.
Reminds me in style of coolio's gangsta's paradise (you know the "minute after minute, hour after hour"...
@badgag Feb 2022
Production is amazing on this! Very deep, which I love.
@apolez3 Feb 2022
Excellently projected~ extra love the part when it gets louder about 2:21-2:46 and 3:15-3:38 Well done!
@andyt13 Feb 2022
Strong vibes! Good stuff!
@dzdandcunfsd Feb 2022
Nothing wrong with an obligitory sad song. This is a great one. That long bendy riff is spectacular, and great little kickup on the beat in the refrain, really flows great with the lyric. Really cool ghostly atmosphere you've created here, and if that ghost gets too pesky you can sick your wife on it!
@smudged Feb 2022
Really love the ambiance of this song - especially the high echoing and pitch bending guitar. Great juxtaposition against vocals and other instruments. The lyrics compliment this whole feeling quite well. Thanks for sharing!
@djtjb Feb 2022
I love this. If this is the only obligatory sad song of the month you knocked it out of the park. P.S. I really like what you are doing with your voice
