4. This links to a random English word; write a song around that word.
I got the word (well, name) Howie and almost immediately the name "Howie Daffodil" popped into my head. I have always loved Fountains of Wayne and breakfast foods (especially when getting breakfast with the one and only @dabirks) so I wanted to pay homage to Adam Schlesinger (gone too soon, may he rest in peace) and put some of my favorite things (and my dad's favorite foods) into this song.
Approaching the diner he walks up the stairs
Knocks his boots on the stoop and then opens the door
To the sound of the patron all eating their breakfast
And the short noisy blurts from the short order staff
Howie Daffodil isn't quite sure
If he wants eggs on toast or if he wants something more
Howie Daffodil is new around here
And his future plans are not very clear
Approaching the table he hangs up his coat
Takes a seat by the window, decides what he wants
He then timidly orders a one egg jose
The waitress jots it down before rushing away
Howie Daffodil wasn't quite sure
If he wanted eggs on toast or if he wanted something more
Howie Daffodil is new around here
And his future plans are not very clear
In the diner of life
It pays to be choosy
Don't just take what's in sight
You won't grow wrong on caramel/cinnamon rolls
In the diner of life
You have to take chances
You'll never know what you'll like
Howie Daffodil wasn't quite sure
If he wanted eggs on toast or if he wanted something more
Howie Daffodil is new around here
And his future plans are not very clear

Adam would be proud! Love how the verses put the listener right into the scene. My fav: “Knocks his boots on the stoop and then opens the door”

Hi Ruby!
Very nice vocals on this beautiful melody.
I love the first two lines of the chorus, very thoughtful and though-provoking. It's not about eggs!
Great structure and rhyme schemes too.
Nice!
