Feb 2022 catcore handclaps acapella feline improvisation comedy shortsong
Well that was unexpected. Both this song and the events that transpired to inspire it.
I have referenced construction a few times. I've moved back into my office between construction phases and my cat is very concerned. More about him in a minute. But he alerted me to a furnace leak (water, not gas), which I tried to fix to no avail. Furthermore, it was in a very constrained spot and I had to contort in a weird way that my old and feeble body does not apparently appreciate.
Thank goodness I have a neighbor who does furnace repair, among other things. She and her husband came over and she expertly attached the necessary things and is going to come do more repairs in exchange for currency. Thus the song title: Cheers to Good Neighbors!
So I improvised this little ditty after they left and then my cat joined in and tried to lick the plate of food I hadn't yet put in the dishwasher. Cats are so helpful at reminding us about these things, aren't they?
Guitar used: NONE!
Hands used: TWO!
Cats used: NONE (he uses ME...towards his own ends)
I've got a story to share
My furnace is leaking and needs a repair
Why am I singing this song?
I threw out my back while turning a knob
My grade A neighbor came over to help
Hooked up a little tube I never knew what that did
Cat is licking my plate
I think that's the time where I should end this song cause it's great
MEOWWWWWWW!!!!!!!!

This is the true and genuine FAWM right here.
I am barely surviving making my dog a FAWM widow, I don't know that I would dare with a cat, especially looking at that fierce photo you've dressed this with!
"Hooked up a little tube I never knew what did" is genius.

I am here for any and all songs even tangentially related to the glory of the beings that are cats
@jamesstaubes Feb 2022
This is amazing. I sing songs like this all the time. I'm so glad you recorded one of yours for FAWM. You've inspired me.
@gardeningangel1 Feb 2022
Cheers to your neighbor, hope your back is feeling better, and I bow down to your feline overlord and co-writer. Nice way to end on a high note :)

@sirius - I guess maybe I'm not clear on what #catcore is myself? My cat does make an appearance on several songs in many ways. As soon as I hit record (especially for vocals) he's like "you're not giving me attention! Bow to my will!" so, really, even any instrumentals I do will be catcore this year. :)

I was expecting to hear a fellow feline singing or playing due to the tag, but then my human explained me the concept of the song. It's nice to see that my people is an inexhaustible source of inspiration for humankind.
I enjoy your enthusiastic vocal delivery! Funny story and song!
Greetings to your cat. =^.^=

@dugganensis - ha, thanks for listening. Yeah, I had an idea of what I wanted to sing but then I was like "uh, yeah, KNOB!" which was hard to not bust out laughing during. Then my cat actually did lick my plate and you can hear me moving it and then he was very nonplussed and verbalized his discontent! Thanks for listening, and glad you enjoyed it!

I was expecting the word "on" and got "knob" instead, which earned a chuckle. I wish my neighbs were as rad as yours. And if you DIDN'T mix in that meow at the end, BRAVO.
@jlampson Feb 2022
@darcistrutt - thank you! I tagged it accordingly and then found one other #catcore song that was really enjoyable. Next year I want to just take February off from everything but music. And maybe the rest of the year, too!

I think there was a CatCore tag once upon a time for your contributor - or should I say your master. I call songs like this "journaling with a tune". Life gives us our best material.
@jlampson Feb 2022
@nadine - so far no leaks! That little tube was all it needed, I guess! Next up: a song about my cat eating random particles of matter? Who knows!
@nadine Feb 2022
Lol. You can turn everything into a song. Hope your leak is fixed.
@mikeskliar Feb 2022
Ha - fun story and song!!

Put a smile on my face -- thanks!
