Every town has one
The Coffee Gang
They sit at breakfast
At the local shop
Making up stories
Of feats they once topped
As the coffee is poured
And the bacon so crisp
They tell of heroics
Done at great risk
Their attire is quite sporty
With logos so bright
They talk of the days
When they fought the fight
The stories are fables
Falsehoods and such
The truth of the matter
They never did much
But it’s done in good fun
And they all know the game
It’s fun to tell others
Of fictional fame

"The truth of the matter
They never did much" Says it! This is another clever one. I've never really been able to get into the coffee klatches you portray so well, even though age qualifies me, because my reality is so unbelievable anyway, I've lost the art of tall tale telling!

As a people watcher at coffee shops, I've seen so many of these types of folks. Such a unique perspective for a lyric. Well done.

Oh I know them . I think it includes the line ",you think that's bad" one ummanship at its finest. Great observational lyric.

Heh! Yes, every town does have one. Or two. Or three.
