Feb 2022 instrumental op-z ambient
The word "tio" in Portuguese means literally "uncle", but is commonly used in an affectionate way towards people that are close but not blood related.
Last month the father of 3 of my best friends (siblings who I grew up with) passed away. I wanted to be there for them like they were for me when my father passed away, but COVID makes everything more complicated. This song is a way of processing all of this, and also my own grief.
Rest in peace, tio Marcos.

Wow Beto, this really captures those feelings of loss for me. Really slowly developing and pensive. I just love what you’ve done here. Well done

Lovely sounds. A fitting piece, is this the OP-Z? I’ve been curious about it for ages. These sounds intrigue me more. So full and lush.

This is very clever, it builds tension very nicely. I really like the syncopated synths and the tempo changes feel effortless, which is very hard to accomplish (in my experience)
@littlespiral Feb 2022
This one had a profound effect on me. It's amazing how you can express sadness and unraveling through nothing but sound. So sorry for your loss. Your tio would be proud.

I'm heartbroken to read the story behind this song. Covid is so painful for so many of us...
The song reverberates with sadness, the slow arp chordprogressions have a haunting beauty to them. When you changed the time signature or tempo (can't really tell) aroung 2:00, it has a remarkable effect.
Thank you for sharing both the song and the story behind it!

This is a lovely tribute. I can feel the pain of loss in here. I'm so sorry to hear that this happened. This is a beautiful way to express the grief.
@jjmickey Feb 2022
My condolences. This is a lovely piece of music.
@gilhari Feb 2022
I am sorry for your loss… this piece expresses it well.
@beat Feb 2022
Grief is like love, one of the strongest sentiments to feel.
You transport it very well.

Nice job. Being a beginner at all this synth stuff, I don’t really understand all the musicality they can bring. This song gets all sorts of ideas going through my head .
@santadharma Feb 2022
RIP and condolences. A beautiful and emotional tribute. The buildup is smooth and lovely synth sounds throughout.
@wobbiewobbit Feb 2022
ooh love the bit before 2 mins where the timing breaks down. that held note really creates some tension behind the front melodies. really enjoying this. nice ending. so cool, what an amazing tribute.. sorry for your loss
@heuristicsinc Feb 2022
Really nice how it builds up. Very good atmosphere and feel. I'm sorry to hear of this, I hope the making of a song can help. Very cool ending.
@cloudboy Feb 2022
So sorry to hear that, Beto. Tio used here too. In both ways as well. It's a beautiful tribute. It feels like a soul's journey. Love and light to you.

I have uncles and aunts like this. I’m so sorry for your loss and the complicated global situation. This is really beautiful and I hope it helped with the processing. <3

Ah. We use Aunty a lot in a similar way uncle not often! Very interesting. Separation of people at important times is awful. I really hope this lovely piece you have written helps!
@dock Feb 2022
Those gradually speeding plucks at seemingly random intervals give the piece an appropriately pensive quality. That it builds into the reverb space is great! Nice way to see Tio off.
@ericlord Feb 2022
Sorry for your loss
Really intense song. It was very emotional and beautiful! I especially enjoyed the climax. The drones have a rich grit, and the melodies, while prominent for this type of ambient, were dreamlike and pleasant.
Keep it up!

A nice tribute to your tio. It is restful and pensive. Assume that's what you were going for.
