Feb 2022 generative hg fortune jeskola buzz
A wee bit o'generative music created entirely in Jeskola Buzz. This uses a number of HG Fortune VSTi's to create the sonic image. I hit record & then just fiddled with buttons/settings in real time as this recorded. It was lots of fun & a different way of working within Buzz.
Ok, I promise a classic Candle live-to-tape guitar track is coming soon!

The fuck is generative music?! Are you just uploading your consciousness into the metaverse and letting it compose based on your aura?! Because if so, it's working.
@looprication Feb 2022
Dammit I have all this stuff to make generative music and I just can't figure out how to do it. Yet. I think I'm too much of a control freak but like a little randomness. Love the sonic waves in the effects crashing over me. Reminds me a bit of 1990s The Orb - what's in the water up there in NW Ontario hey? Yeah I could stay here for a long, long time. The balance of samples and space is exquisite.
@bradbrubaker Feb 2022
Something about this felt chilly to me, maybe the metallic rattle? Stark yes. An urban jungle, perhaps. Cool this was done in real time.
@apertome Feb 2022
I was promised this would be endless, but sadly it did end! Oh the radio samples or whatever those are, are fantastic. There are so many layers that it's hard to wrap my head around. I like it here.
@mosley Feb 2022
I dig this dark and ominous piece, really conveys a feeling of suspense and I dig that you titled it Labrynth, definitely feels like trying to find a path through a maze, with cautious suspicion about what may be lurking unseen around the next corner
@kenficara Feb 2022
What an ominous atmosphere, the more so as the track goes on. The ending most of all; the departure of something that will be back, and will probably be worse.
@xfloorpunchx Feb 2022
Strong atmosphere here. Very dark, but the cymbals are kinda adding a touch of light. Great soundscape!
@heliosonorous Feb 2022
This shifts around well, some dark ominous airs and that feeling of swirls and being lost in this maze, nice scene capturing and mood established.
@gilhari Feb 2022
Great imagery with this one… get a “bottom falling out” feeling with the yawning abyss ambience of the background sound and the drum combo keeps everything moving along in the endless labyrinth. The muffled vocals is a nice touch too, really adding to the overall mood.
@kanttila Feb 2022
Really cool, I like the mood this creates. All the sounds keep it interesting. Making it in real time gives this a great, as mentioned below, spontaneity that makes it easy to get into. Combined with the 90's Prog Metal album cover looking picture, and it's a great listen!
@silvermachine Feb 2022
An interesting way of recording which appeals to my respect for spontaneity and improvisation in music.
Yeah I'm definitely in outer space here and imagining space as a labyrinth which is pretty mind blowing. Terrific wide panorama you've engineered here as well
@fuzzy Feb 2022
You know I love the Generative music.
Like collaborating with the universe.
I always appreciate your attention to the full breadth of the stereo field.
Very atmospheric for sure.
@beat Feb 2022
Beautiful
@intoyourlight Feb 2022
I could listen to this endlessly, it is like a journey to space. The drums are so steady and calming, then there are these chord changes, that produce a wonderfully strange feeling. Really like a mission to space with the echoey voice samples. Love it!
@santadharma Feb 2022
What a fantastic soundscape! Like you’re coming out of a dream but keep getting lulled back in.
@gardeningangel1 Feb 2022
Now that I know you've done video editing I have a guess at how you're able to create these cinematic soundscapes (it's magic, isn't it? Just as I suspected). From the 'verbed out voices I feel like I'm going a bit space-crazy... the acoustics on this ship are messing with my depth perception. I could have sworn the transporter was just through this airlock... or maybe it was that one? The minotaur is hot on my heels...
@dzdandcunfsd Feb 2022
That is the perfect picture for this. I don't know how to describe it any better than that, other than there is no panic getting lost in all that swirly whirly goodness. So maybe stuck in a labryinth where there was food and water around every corner and you could just leave anytime you wanted to.
Ohhh, it for sure didn't feel its length either. I may of went somewhere for a bit :)
@metalfoot Feb 2022
Somewhat disturbing and very atmospheric. Feels like I'm lost in a Northern Ontario blizzard.
@seanbrennan Feb 2022
Wow - I can't look at the picture for too long while this plays without having an existential crisis! Anyway, you clearly have a solid command over this new way of making music, because there is definitely a pace and a scope that feels at once organic and otherworldly. Thanks for the brief dissociative state! I enjoyed my time in the shadows. :-)
