I wrote this for the skirmish with the theme of failure (https://fawm.org/forums/topic/12479/). I decided to go for the simple life-experience-with-ironic-twist genre.
I climbed to the peak of this mountain
Not quite
I fell
I fell short
Oh well
I slid all the way down the mountain
Ha ha
They laughed
then they got my autograph
’Cause I’m the biggest failure
The biggest dumbest failure
I’m the biggest failure anyone has ever seen
Now I’ll never live down that video
everywhere I fly
People say “you’re that guy”
So I tried to make mountains of lemonade
to build
a brand
of Epic Fail Man
’Cause I’m the biggest failure
The biggest dumbest failure
I’m the biggest failure anyone has ever seen
It worked!
Now I’m a keynote speaker
I have a best-selling memoir
I made a million dollars
But it all feels inauthentic
When I walk onstage and tell the crowd
That I’m the biggest failure
The biggest dumbest failure
I’m the biggest failure anyone has ever seen

Your Epic Fail Man character is nicely fleshed out, seems like so many famous people fail miserably and make it huge - oh well!

genius writing - I love the story here! One could wonder if you intentionally failed to win. wait what? Seriously though, well done! I enjoy the irony. Well written, Great execution. Great skirmish!

This is funny. It is believable these day. Cool idea for the challenge!

This has very much that 1960s coffee shop vibe aside from the social media angle, and I’m sure we can let that slip in quietly in the back. But then the imposter syndrome around being a success with the Epic Fail branding is a surprising twist and very much in tune with the times.

The whole "Now I'll never live down that video/"you're that guy"/mountains out of lemonade" section is so topical and hilariously insightful. I love the approach you took with the prompt!
