Song No 2.... its about the eye in the sky, big brother watching us and how we are expected to conform.
Mr. Spaceman – © Paul Cogley Feb 2022
Verse
There’s a point, of light in the sky, you can see it at night, moving ever so slowly
A light, working its way, between the planets and stars, so very intently
The light, is looking down, tries not to judge, sees our confusion
It sees, what it wants, when it wants, drawing conclusions
Chorus
Its looking at you, looking at me, looking right back at you,
Mr. Spaceman
Watch, what you say, what you do, and how you do it
Mr. Spaceman
Verse
He’s, taking notes, observing you close, recording your actions
Just hoping to see, a principled life with good transactions
We, should strive to be, as good as we can be, we are duty-bound
Keep, your feet on the ground, be safe and sound, be nice all around

GreAt track !!!
The chord changes are perfect , it could be amazingly played in any style and the song would still shine through for what it is, a perfect combo of chords and melodies. Catchy chorus too, woho, the Guitara in the verses really nice

Happy happy sounds and arrangement. Light and airy and then thick with harmonies and juxtaposition in all the right places. How do you do that? Conceive an arrangement like this when most of us are challenged to write lyrics alone! Amazing!

I like this.... very nice. Very tight and right too....David

Wow, this is really great. I was happy with what was going on before the chorus, but the chorus really adds another dimension, tops it all off nicely. I like the jauntiness of the delivery - vocally it reminds me of something playful off Ogden's Nut Gone Flake or something. That Mr Spacem'n hook in the chorus though, it is such a bag of fun! Very impressive.

That's a very Belew-esque opening guitar line. Gorgeous bit of old-school pop; the Syd Barrett styling on the vocals is giving me a huge nostalgia hit. And my goodness me, hooks by the bucketload!
Sitting here smiling from start to finish.

made me immediately think of that "what year is this??" meme, hah! it doesn't sound like you're trying to emulate 60s/70s recordings, it sounds like it was recorded decades ago with that actual gear. a real groovy track. the guitar work is something to behold

This is my kind of song, psych trip out with a touch of modern conspiracy thrown in! Great stuff. I like the measured delivery on the vocals- they really fit well with the instrumentation. Really nice stuff!
@gm7 Feb 2022
yes I hear that 60s vibe..and that's a good thing . Great job.
@santadharma Feb 2022
Awesome all around. Fun concept and agree with the 60s psychedelic pop vibe. Well done.
@tseaver Feb 2022
Lovely write: the jangle sets up the angst of the lyric well.

What a great sound! Nice mix.
This has a bit of 60s psychedelic vibe to it, to me.
I like the little synth bits, accenting nicely.
Nice between the spaceman observing, cataloging our little lives. And us trying to keep our feet on the ground.
That sounds like an instruction from the Ministry of Right Living: You're duty bound. Keep your feet on the ground. Be safe. Be sound. Be nice.
