Feb 2022 folk sad love-song orchestral
It's Ground Hog Day. What can I say. I think I needed to write a sad, yet uplifting tune about the pandemic. Yikes!
I’m trying to keep it all together
In a global pandemic
An endless Ground Hog day 4 seasons different weather
This wild life is endemic
if my lips turn blue
and covid takes me away from you
my time has finally come
my death in absentia
as I fly past stars and nebulae
please hear my anthem
I WILL ALWAYS LOVE YOU
I HAVE ALWAYS LOVED YOU
I’m waking and always see his shadow
In a global pandemic
Fast forward lets Break the slo mo
endlessnes is endemic
if I lose my breath
compromised and suppressed
my time has finally come
It will break my heart
But the SOUL is greater than the part
So Please hear my anthem
I WILL ALWAYS LOVE YOU
I HAVE ALWAYS LOVED YOU
I WILL ALWAYS LOVE YOU
I HAVE ALWAYS LOVED YOU

I will always love this song! global pandemic is such a hard phrase to sing and you did it like riding a bike. such a soothing, gliding hook!

Hooked me in from the first verse! Lovely storytelling and I love the melancholic note. Love your voice and folk guitar

'sad, yet uplifting' always works when played live in front an audience.
My bet is you're a performer. This is one to include in a live-set for sure.

I love this melody! Sweet and pretty yet surprising composition supporting this gentle lyric. I love what the piano and strings are doing to support the acoustic and voice.

"global pandemic" has never been sung more melodically ever! such a beautiful bitter sweet song. LOVE the chord progression in the "I will always love you".
@teebyrd Feb 2022
This the good stuff @enzo Love the honest and vulnerable lyric, the naked drop tuning, how the solo barges in shimmering with hope from out of the stratosphere and then lastly the mournful Roger Waters wailing over the ending. Helluva first track, brother.

This is so good. Someone else mentioned George Harrison and it’s funny, I’ve never really heard that influence in your songs before but I really hear it here. Also some of the best elements of my favorite Beck songs. I really love the ending and the shout-singing, as though the cosmic drift is already carrying you away but you just want to make sure you say it one more time for the universe to hear. Your first FAWM song, hooray!!!
@debrandio Feb 2022
That was awfully pretty. I never the line "global pandemic" to be so uplifting.

Wow, what a way to combine two disparate ideas, and make them both equal halves as the main subject of the song! I'm sure the recipient of this song must feel blessed to be incredibly loved. The solo after the first chorus is gorgeous.
From a melody composition standpoint, I like that the second half of the verse picks up rhythmic pace for variety's sake. What a terrific first effort.

Wow, a compelling mix of sad resignation and uplifting love. Two worlds, the soul and the physical. George Harrison combined the two, and you also do it well.
