Feb 2022 alternative diminished saturday-morning
@deadhead: First lyrics of the year. First in around half a year in fact... I think they turned out better than I could've expected.
@seanbrennan: This was a ton of fun to do, because this is not normally a rhythm style I work in. It was partly forced by the fact that my cajon work in "Magic" earned me a noise complaint from my downstairs neighbor (on the off chance you're a FAWMer... sorry!).
Track Credits
Andrew Russell: lead vocals, guitar
Sean Brennan: second vocals, bass, cajon, spoken part

Saturday morning
The sun reaching to my eyes
And what will I find
When I open them
Will I see
You
Laying there beside me
Arms reaching out
Or will I be without
I never know
That's what you do to
Me
Every day's a surprise
I never know if I'll find
You there
Spending time with me
If there's one thing I could change
It would be you and me
And how much time we spent together
Searching in the morning
Searching in the afternoon
Searching in the evening
Searching under the moon
Searching for you
(searching in the morning)
You walk through that door (searching in the afternoon)
Don't even say a thing
Not even a smile (searching in the evening)
Nothing I can latch right on to
Nothing I can trust (searching under the moon)
To change
Us
[Solo]
If there's one thing I could change
It would be you and me
And how much time we spent together
If there's something I could say
It would come out of my heart
The problem is I don't know where to start
Searching in the morning
(If there's one thing I could change)
Searching in the afternoon
(If there's something I could say)
Searching in the evening
(If there's nothing I can do)
Searching under the moon
(To be there with)
Searching for
You

Cool song, a lot of good stuff going on here. I love the "searching" section followed by the call response repeat. Real nice lead guitar break. Nice groove to the whole piece.

Cool rhythm. I love the jazzy feel. I like the line “ If there's one thing I could change It would be you and me”. The solo is awesome. I love it. Vocals are great too.

It's all about the groove. And the over dramatic ending. I didn't expect you both singing. You sound like brothers. I love the guitar solo :)

yeah I second @metalfoot here. THE GROOVE is not to be denied. so friggin smooth. Everything about this works, but that groove really moves this along.

The groove. The GROOVE. Gentlemen, the GROOVE.
Loving those somewhat unconventional chords and the structure of the song. But the winner in this song is the great groove you have come up with.
