I had this melancholy melody floating around in my head this morning and wanted to get it down on the dulcimer before it faded away.
I work very very early mornings right now, and the dark, cold, foggy/rainy weather is pretty surreal when I'm driving around at 2 or 3 in the morning. I keep wondering if I'll see a vampire or some monstrous creature lurking somewhere, but I had the thought today that maybe I'm the vampire.? Anyways. If there are ever words that go to this melody, maybe that's what they would be about.

I love the dulcimer and the almost mysterious/surreal tone of this. Love it even without lyrics!

Very haunting and atmospheric, and in the best tradition of British Isles folktale songs. I hear this as a wonderfully spare introduction that leads to a full Celtic treatment with bodhran, fiddle, and pipe!

This is understatedly beautiful. I really enjoyed this. Thanks. :)

Your song is beautiful - beautifully melancholy but nicely balanced with the upbeat tones of the dulcimer. I am not sure I have heard a mountain dulcimer. I have heard hammered dulcimers before. It has a lovely tone and your playing sounds amazing.

I was wondering when the mountain dulcimer would come out! This sounds wonderful. Your playing is beautiful. It does feel like a pensive cold morning.
