Feb 2022 indie-rock
My friend found a game controller in some alley garbage that had 50 self-contained arcade games on it. The game titles included such gems as Rural Goblins, Wild Worm, Mirror Devil World, Hallihoo, Water Pipes, and Burble. Who could resist? The rest is a bit of imagining the incredible worlds just beneath our "ordinary" world.
Our greenest fescue
and white suburban chem trails
it’s a different world
if only residential
the rural goblins
and wildest worms get birds
but who could stop them
when they’re crying to be heard?
Mirror devil world
Hallihoo. x3
Who’s there? Does anybody care,
if our feelings are never hurt?
V2:
Where is Creston?
He’s off exploring burrows
and the water pipes
that leak right where they burble
Beneath the churchyard
the tree roots poke at coffins
to see if anyone else
is getting up at dawn with them
Mirror devil world
Hallihoo
Hallihoo
Hallihoo, who’s there? Does anybody care,
if our feelings are never hurt?

Great song! Love the harmony vocals and driving rhythm guitars. Nice sense of movement!

Brilliant. I reckon Robert Pollard must get his lyrics from discarded game cartridges because this would fit perfectly on Alien Lanes or Bee Thousand.

Woah, awesome!! Guitars are great, remind me of Teenage Fanclub. Great chorus!!

Rural goblins that’s freaking hilarious

Love this! Has that sweet Weezer-esque harmony (to my ears) and I love that driving rhythm section that's happening.
Also, fun concept for a song!
