I'm really feeling like I want to be able to finish FAWM this year, and I'm writing a lot of lyrics and having a lot of ideas. Maybe I can do 7-8 lyric sets and spend the rest of FAWM posting the demo's? I don't know.
I know lyric sets aren't super popular on FAWM and reading without a grooving tune behind it isn't ideal, but I'm really feeling some of these lyrics I'm writing and I'd like to share them with you all.
(Verse 1 -female)
Summer
Summer
Summer
Summer
That was the time that we shared
Summer
Summer
Summer
Summer
That's where we laid it all bare
(Chorus One -female)
You were my hype man
You were my partner in crime
you were my best friend
kept me from crossing the line
You were my daydream
but now I've woken up
I gave you everything
it just wasn't enough
(Pre-Chorus 2x -female)
but I try
and I try
and I try
and I try
and I replay in my mind
and I cry
and I cry
and I cry
and I cry
and I tell myself I'm fine
(Chorus Two)
You were my hype man
You were my partner in crime
you were my best friend
kept me from crossing the line
You were my daydream
but now I've woken up
I gave you everything
it just wasn't enough
(Verse 2 -male)
Bummer
Bummer
Bummer
Bummer
That's what I say when I see you
Shudder
Shudder
Shudder
Shudder
I swear that I can still feel you
I'm catching glimpses
and smells of your perfume
I'm not convinced this
only happens in my room
I see you at the grocery
that time that we were screaming
I see you at the movies
your favorite movie screening
I see my dreams your haunting
I just can't shake this feeling
This dumb mistake we're making
I can feel my heart screaming
(Pre-Chorus 2x -male)
but I try
and I try
and I try
and I try
and I replay in my mind
and I cry
and I cry
and I cry
and I cry
and I tell myself I'm fine
(Chorus Three -male)
You were my sweet girl
You were my partner in crime
you were my best friend
kept me from losing my mind
You were my princess
but now I'm just a Joe
I gave you everything
How will I let you go
(Chorus Four -female)
You were my hype man
You were my partner in crime
you were my best friend
kept me from crossing the line
You were my daydream
but now I've woken up
I gave you everything
it just wasn't enough

Wow! This sounds like it will make a great song. Fantastic lyrics. Can't wait to hear the melody you set them to.

This will be great ;) the words are all there and what, a bassline and a few drops and it's done, right? (these are words I tell myself anyway....)

This is easy to hear, even without the music. It’s clear the music was running through your mind as you wrote it.
I guess there are different schools of thought, but I think you should go ahead and post the lyrics. I’m a little biased in that direction since I’m primarily a lyricist. I like reading people’s lyric postings. I also make a point of trying to go back to hear the finished song if it’s posted. I hope you’ll ping me for this one.

Love the interplay between the man and the woman, each one telling their side of the story!
