So, I am having fun with this, and it is liberating not to think, but just tap into emotions and sing whatever comes out. I will worry about editing and production later. This is good for me., Get your ya yas out, as Mick Jagger says.
I Miss Everything
By David Snyder
V1
I miss the sound of laughter
And the way we used to cry
I miss the way we loved one another so much
Under that starry sky
I miss the days of madness
When it was ok to be insane
Until the brand New Hitlers came to town
And took control of the game
CH
I miss the feeling of justice, baby
And I don’t know who to blame
I miss our world of joy and freedom
And I tired of feeling ashamed
And baby, baby hear me sing it
One last time
I just miss
I miss everything
V2
I miss the wild wild horses
That we used to ride
I miss the future that we used to feel
And the courage in your eyes
CH
I miss the world of wonder
That all went up in flames
When the soldiers started marching on Main Street
And writing down our names
I miss our days of joy and freedom
And I tired of feeling ashamed
And baby, baby hear me sing it
One last time
I just miss
I miss everything
Ch
I miss the feeling of justice
And I don’t know who to blame
I miss the feeling of the morning light
And I'm tired of living in chains
And baby, baby hear me sing it
One last time
I just miss
I miss everything

Fantastic rock "protest" song.
"I miss the days of madness
When it was ok to be insane
Until the brand New Hitlers came to town
And took control of the game"
Yep, that's how I feel too. Populism is on the rise in Europe too.
Don't we learn anything from the past? Are we truly condemned to repeat our mistakes? :-(

You mentioned Mick Jagger in the liner notes. Not sure if that is why I started getting that 'Rolling Stones' sense in here. The emotion is pooring through here, well done!

"I miss the feeling of justice." Painful in a good way. Really, truly, I think that the past couple years have taken from us (at least, the lucky among us) the sense that the world is a fundamentally safe, and at least partially fair, place. This song expresses that in a nice, cathartic, Whitman-esque "barbaric yawp." Maybe someone with power will listen and think. Cheers, and welcome to the land of FAWM! Hope it continues to treat you well.
