This song tries to get stuck into diminished responsibility. Basically we love to blame our corrupt politicians which is easier than getting out of the cycle of being wage slaves to jobs we don't like and then spending the money on things we don't need which feeds the whole system. Without us doing that the lobbyists, politicians, and corporate kings wouldn't have a hope in hell.
The Guilty Few
Coming to a town near you,
Glazed eyes looking out confused,
Divided by the dance, given our last chance,
Way too soon,
And blaming the guilty few
Tuning into old previews,
Circuses that hide the truth,
Fed by the machine, Not sure what we believe
No good news,
And blaming the guilty few.
Chorus: One by one we pick our sides
To see where love and truth resides
And hope we avoid what others fall into
It’s an image not a light
Which draws us deep into the night.
And blaming the guilty few
Not sure who to accuse
Only that it can’t be me or you
The truth that no one sees
Divided into teams
Red and blue,
And blaming the guilty few
Chorus: One by one we pick our sides
To see where love and truth resides
And hope we avoid what others fall into
It’s an image not a light
Which draws us deep into the night.
And blaming the guilty few

I love the piano in this one ... kind of basic, but perfect with the urgency of the strumming guitar. Cool!

"It’s an image not a light
Which draws us deep into the night" Amen. Not going to write a dissertation here, @seanbrennan's done that well for me. Just applause.

I like the message of empowerment! I think sadly, most of our self-limiting habits come out of exhaustion and duress. The situations you describe keep our brains in a state of high alert 24/7, which is unhealthy and consumes the same resources we employ for rational thought when in a healthy rest state. And so the machine grinds on (and grinds us), and we blame the guilty few....
I think you're right though. Any time we're able to "snap out of it," we have a duty - grab someone else along for the ride. Strength in numbers is a power that no hoarded wealth or hordes of lawyers can keep down forever!
I loved the synth horns toward the end, and the guitar part staying so lively was a real treat. Nice work!
