Ive been following a new morning routine recently, including free writing and journalling. This has been a big positive for me in the lead up to FAWM so i wanted to write a positive song about leaving the crap behind and moving on.
I saw a challenge to drop a capo on my guitar in a random place - so here it is dropped on the 4th fret - i mean, who ever capos at 4? not me thats for sure, because its made it a weird key to sing in for me lol but int he spirit of the challenge i kept it there and rolled with it!
I also managed to incorporate the Right Said Fred ending which basically happened spontaneously as I sang the main vocal so needed some rerecording of the acoustic to match it. Im calling this a double challenge song!
I quite like the upbeat feel of it!
Life
Moves too quickly
I feel like im slipping
I cant hang on
I'm
Afraid of falling
I dont hear you calling
I just move on
Just move on, let go of my fears
Hang my heart, on my sleeve
Just move on, from yesterday
Cause its long gone, buried and done
I just move on
Ride
Like the wind
See if it takes me
To where I belong
I'm not a prisoner
I find what i'm looking for
Or I just move on
Just move on, let go of my fears
Hang my heart, on my sleeve
Just move on, from yesterday
Cause its long gone, buried and done
I just move on
Life is wide open
Live wild and free
Never judge by the cover
Learn to trust each other
To finally see
Just move on, let go of my fears
Hang my heart, on my sleeve
Just move on, from yesterday
Cause its long gone, buried and done
I just move on
Just move on, let go of my fears
Hang my heart, on my sleeve
Just move on, from yesterday
Cause its long gone, buried and done
Just move on
Cause its long gone, buried and done
I just moved on.

Beautiful, clean guitar strumming and strong vocal delivery, harmony is delightful. Indigo Girls era. And appreciate the positivity of your lyrics. Should make this my daily mantra too.
@oswlek Mar 2022
Hey! I capo the 4th fret all the time! And most others, too. :)
Nice match between the lyric and the music. Empowering. I really like the melody and general layout of the verses and the lift into the title line works very well. That part felt appropriately featured.
And more great singing. Nice one!
@wolfkier Mar 2022
this one hums along, the doubled vocal helps the build and carry the melody up to the chorus, which is a yummy earworm. Empowering and compelling, I'm "singing" along best I can... :) . And then the door slam ending. well done...
#tit4tat thanks for the kind words earlier.
@hbusse Mar 2022
Love the uptempo groove of this one. Gosh, I really enjoy your voice, it's full-throated and folksy and genuine.
@coolparadiso Mar 2022
#tit4tat Yes well capo’d a really good clear lyric with a good message. Your usual impeccable delivery. Really enjoyable again.
@danvaillancourt Mar 2022
Nice capo'ed guitar tone! Yay for capo 4, that is a position that I've used quite a bit and I like your voice in that key. Love the arrangement. Super catchy chorus. Ending works perfectly, nice when it just works out spontaneously!
@vomvorton Feb 2022
Those jangling guitars have a perfectly propulsive feel to them for a song about moving on! Really great combination of theme and musical vibe. Agree with the comments that this sounds like a great key for you, even if it's not one you usually work in. Really enjoyed this!
@cjk Feb 2022
Wow, love it. And what everybody else said ;-)
@tunecat Feb 2022
Nice momentum and catchy from the off. Verses and choruses go together really well .. like drop after bridge.. this song almost ready to be incorporated as is into a film
@greengrassgirl Feb 2022
This is beautiful. I really like your style!
@geoff61 Feb 2022
I love your vocal, would love it if you ever wanted a collab :-)
@davidtaro Feb 2022
Lovely, relatable sentiment well-expressed! This has a very commercial melody, really accomplished songwriting. I was singing along by the end :)
@dugganensis Feb 2022
Infectious energy, upbeat, catchy, light - with a twinge of melancholy. I think this subliminally evokes "Stand By Me" in the chord progress and beat. The cajon and harmonies support and move the tune so well! I think it keeps it airy and dynamic to not track any bass or any heavier percussion. Loved this song (and I love capo-ing at 4! lol)
@atam94 Feb 2022
Lol I capo at 4 a lot, but I also usually play in open tunings and not standard. I love the chorus, particularly "cause it's long gone, buried and done" - very nice song
@theicylakes Feb 2022
Great message, catchy tune and wonderful performance! Can't wait for the next one!
@andygriff Feb 2022
It doesn't sound that weird a key for you, but then your singing often sounds effortless to me. This is infectious Celine and just what I wanted to wake up to. Good pop smarts mate once again, this one feels like a keeper to my ears :D
@pippa Feb 2022
I like this a lot. It sounds like a good key for you. Catchy, simple, very singable.
@hazeyjane Feb 2022
Hey, Celine. The last two lines of your chorus work very well and add to the overall catchiness. Found myself pulled into the vortex with this. Couldn’t help but be taken by its infectious simplicity. :)
@mattwdunn Feb 2022
Another beauty. I’m really in love with your voice. I was genuinely excited that you had posted a new tune. I was not disappointed
@jcameron Feb 2022
Who puts a capo on 4? People whose keyboard players insist on using keys like A flat? (Speaking as a keyboard player with a nasty habit of writing songs in keys that are nigh unplayable on the guitar myself) Also as a bit of a mental packrat I appreciate the message. It's a lovely song, and a great Right Said Fred ending!
@thefifthsister Feb 2022
I love writing with capo on 4. Been doing that a lot lately. Gets some nice tones. This was lovely and uplifting too. Thank you
@joetime Feb 2022
Great energy right off the bat - nice lively guitar sound, and the second vocal really kicks it up a notch! I really like the rhythm change up on the last line of the chorus. Lyrics are really tight - no wasted time, just clear statements and imagery :)
@jlampson Feb 2022
I love this! I started the capo challenge and you have won at doing it! I capo at 4 a lot, because then C becomes E, which layers really nicely.
Anyway, I think the comments below about artists like Indigo Girls (a band I love) were right on. Beautiful harmonies and great use of dynamics. The upbeat delivery suits the message of the lyrics, giving me a hopefulness that I, too, can move on with my spirit intact.
@circle Feb 2022
I love a 4th fret capo personally! The guitar sounds lovely, currently struggling with my own acoustic guitar song and I don't know how you've made it sound so bright and clear without that pesky high ringing. the vocals also sound perfect
@jmso91 Feb 2022
Love this upbeat rhythm, can't help but dance along to this! Lovely harmonies too x
@pianoonthepatio Feb 2022
I love the part when you came in with the harmonies immediately at "I'm afraid of falling, I dont hear you calling, I just move on" - overall really catchy. It also made me want to skip winter, go on a solo summer road trip and play this in my car
@kenmattsson Feb 2022
You should think about fretting at the 4th more often. Your voice sounds great here! I'm getting a bit of Indigo Girls sound.
I love the lyrics, as a hopeless optimist here. It just feels so good. You nailed the positive vibe. It's a keeper!
@stephentanner Feb 2022
Really catchy, love it Celine. Great driving rhythm to it. It's gonna stay in my head. To the point that i'll try and accidentally write it again myself later in the week. Haha!
@tukayandryan Feb 2022
Oooooh hooky as feck! Gonna be singing this one all day
Love the contrast of tone to your last one. This made me head bop and smile
@whispermouse Feb 2022
Capo 4 - B is for Bluegrass! :D
The key doesn't sound weird from this side of things, it sounds totally natural. I love the upbeat melody, guitar and percussion, and the "Ride like the wind" verse is great.
@cicpisces Feb 2022
Really nice song. Live the harmonies. Beautiful tone to your vocal. Nice upbeat message. Wel done.
@mariekevinkmusic Feb 2022
Nice nice nice nice!! Really upbeat. Dammit woman, you know a hook when you see one.
