I think we've all been here with this one.
Didn't intend for this to be the week one challenge.
Got another I am working on for that. May be posted later this evening. Heehee
The Finger
No matter what you do
There's no release in sight
And your boyfriend doesn't care
So things turn into a fight
An exchange of words
No one's backing down
But he sits up taking notice
When you storm out with a frown
Then you turn and.........
Give em' the finger
When heartbreak lingers
No use escaping the blues
Find solace in venting
Sign language dissenting
To help ease you through
Oh sometimes the answer
Isn't always what's best
With emotions fully charged
And feelings put to the test
Cursing and screaming
Name calling boo hoo
As the last of ammunition
Comes a release that you spew
Just give em' the finger
When heartbreak lingers
No use escaping the blues
Find solace in venting
Sign language dissenting
To help ease you through
And the next day a slap
Can turn to a kiss
Where both of you make up
For the love that you miss
Give em' the finger
When heartbreak lingers
No use escaping the blues
Find solace in venting
Sign language dissenting
To help ease you through

Good write. The physicality of the finger is a great punctuation.

Is this your week 1 challenge? Certainly is on topic. Nice job with the chorus.
