This one was in part inspired by a picture a fan/follower submitted of some 'fairy wings' in a frying pan.
No idea what the lyrics are about.
Flying on fairy wings
fleeing the darkest things
Out of the night and into the fire
even the darkness sings, it does.
On fairy wings
You'll tremble if you get too cold
Remember: never get old
You wait for the truth, but nobody says
Eventually time just stops
If you get too old
Shout and the spinning world will scream back at you.
So loud and there's no-one listening
So climb up here with me,
Climb where it's safe
And wait for the world to fall apart
We've pleaded and we've begged,
But how'd you stop the tide?
We'll wait for the world to fall apart
Telegram from the dead
Remember they all lost their heads
Pick up you wings, strap them back on
There's a light just up ahead
And they're still dead
Shout and the spinning world will scream back at you.
So loud and there's no-one listening
So climb up here with me,
Climb where it's safe
And wait for the world to fall apart
We've pleaded and we've begged,
But how'd you stop the tide?
We'll wait for the world to fall apart
All we are
All we were

You proggin' like a pro here!
So many dynamic movements, the ear is always caught and led along.... and taken further, higher... that takes some doing. Well done!

Sorry to take so long to repay your listen, kind words, helpful input.... February was frantic. Thank you.

This song has so many different shades, I don't know where to start. I first thought of 70s / 80s classic prog, but then that very strong and catchy hookline hit my heart. The build into the solo is all the stuff I listened in the 00s... You did a good job balancing complexity against memorizable licks and melodies. Writing lyrics in a stream of consciousness without knowing what you did is something I wanna learn. I think that these lyrics are about escaping into the unknown. clim where it's safe, hide somewhere, but still hearing all the noises from the past. I enjoyed this one.

I like the chord modulation at the end of the verse! And I think the theme is very timely - capturing the zeitgeist

Very prog, lots going on, great production and climax points.... really nice. Guitars all sound great!

Lots to like here. Particularly enjoyed the melodic part of the solo and just the overall flow of the song.

The harmonic shift into the chorus is lovely. I like the atonality of the opening riff too. Your ability to put these things together at pace is very impressive. Your sense of time in relation to words is great too - I think following the flow of words with meter as you do is a much underused musical technique- lovely song

This takes me back to the 80s in all the best ways. The phalanx of guitars through the chorus is so very effective.

Inspiring chord and time changes. Wonderfully unpredictable journey - I love it! Tight performances and arrangement take it over the top.
Top work :)

No idea what the lyrics are about? Hmmmm...I think part of you is looking well ahead, further than is safe! Someone like me, hey, the end's a lot closer, so both aware and knowing that the falling apart is in process. Good lyric (!) and melody. @donna said "foreboding". Yup!. Enjoyed the backing/production. BTW effective ending very!

What an enjoyable ride to a foreboding destination! :) I admit, it was the lyrics that drew me in, especially the first verse. Very pleasing music and vocals as well. Good job. ;)
