Inspired by a sentence in a short story that sent me down a bit of a rabbit hole.
NOTE: bandybum has asked to set this to music.
A little bit sweet
And more than a little wild
Oh, child
You got me with one look
Carolina Vanilla
Carolina Vanilla
I’m hooked
Had locked myself in
Too scared of the world outside
You smiled
And opened all the doors
Carolina Vanilla
Carolina Vanilla
I’m yours
This life
This life
This life
This life
This life is not a dream
But things are almost never what they seem
You play with my heart
You twist it and then unwind
My mind
How did I read you wrong?
Carolina Vanilla
Carolina Vanilla
I’m gone

You told a whole story in what's really a small number of words. That takes work. Really clear rhythm to this also.

Love the way that phrase rolls off the tongue. It’s a nice way to give the sketched-out story a unique detail that makes it feel more personal and the sound of it is just great.

This is really evocative! I love how a story or an image can inspire us to create something, possibly entirely unrelated.

There's a beauty to the simplisticy of these lyrics that I really love, very nice work!

Ah just love this one! Could I perhaps have a crack at some music for it? :)

Tight and accessible radio friendly tone.

An ex-girlfriend of mine had this intoxicating vanilla perfume that smelled like what I imagine Carolina Vanilla to be. She was an absolutely gorgeous redhead but batshit crazy and left me in the middle of the night and took a bus to Colorado with no warning and I never saw her again but dadgummit if I don't remember that scent sometimes. This lyric reminds me of that.
