I'm not good enough to play guitar in these style I want to play it in. If any body wants to try something with it, go for it.
He grew up with a gift to tinker
Always taking things apart
She grew up as an over thinker
But was never really that smart
Where his mind would see the big picture of things
Hers would overanalyze the start
And off he sailed on his own again
While she was still plotting a chart
He traveled north with no aid of a compass,
The stars guided his way
She danced in circles and made friends with puppets
Guided by a spiritual bouquet
His stars led him back to the focus of her circle
In the height of her cabaret
And together they danced and learned from each other
It's okay to not be okay
Each day they talked, every morning, every night
They made a point to draw each other in
She memorized the number of lines
That life drew in wrinkles on his skin
And they laughed
And sometimes they even sang
And her dreams came true
But he didn't dream the same
Each conversation became shorter than the last
Their once wild relationship became a balancing act
Between high expectations that could never be met
And emptiness
He went through the motions in search of a map in his thoughts
Some blueprints or guidelines or direction for the life he got
She waited there like a ballerina in a jewelry box
Held her breath as if holding it in would cause time to stop
The star crossed lovers that came together against all odds
Never found how to come together for the times that really count
And off he sailed on his own again
While she took her final bow

These are beautiful lyrics that tell a romantic yet mournful tale. I would love to hear them put to music!

Hey--- I've heard you sing, and I know you have solid musicality and some decent guitar chops. I'm curious about the 'style you want to play it in' ??? Scanning this, it looks like the form / rhyme scheme is already in place. Do you have a melody in mind? If you want to invest more in this one, you could send me a scratch vocal track giving me a little more of the musical info and I could attempt some collaborative guitar arrangement... Let me know. I have a hard time with lyrics, but can play all sorts of chord changes.
Anyway, the sad but inevitable separation of these two characters makes for a bittersweet story-song. You have jam packed it with beautiful detail, and I love the writing style. It's FAWM-- you could leave this in the dust and write a few songs that are easier to match to your current comfort level on guitar. Go for the 14 in 28. But if you want to sing a little a cappella scratch track of what you have in mind, I would enjoy creating a guitar track to send back to you. It's like I want to try something with it, but don't quite trust myself to do it justice.
Keep the songs coming. We're just getting started!

Very poignant lyrics, Bonnie. I would love to hear how you're hearing the tune on this (even if your guitar skills make you feel like you can't do it credit-- my brain's always writing guitar lines my hands can't play, so I just approximate)!
