tfish77: So, full disclosure, Adam & I started this song roughly a year ago. He sent me this super cool guitar & drum part and asked me if I had any ideas to add to it. I thought it needed keys, so I added these sparkly synths over top of it. Over the next several months, we slowly added, removed, and stretched parts, trading it back and forth, but it never quite clicked. I figured FAWM would be the time to resurrect this one, and then just the other day it hit me: A) this is an instrumental and I didn't have to waste any more energy figuring out "when the vocals should come in" and B) that synth needed to be a pipe organ. This song is metal as hell, but in a chill way.
calfman: Sent some riffs to Jordan and a couple of ideas. The bridge and build up to the ending of this song were almost intact already and he added some keys. I immediately had the inspiration to pull some of the keys out front and use them as an intro. Then came the nearly 6 months this sat on the shelf... 2 days of FAWM later and here it is, a big overstuffed monster of a thing.

The beginning instrumentation is setting up for some metal epicness. I like that driving bass in the beginning. The drum drop out part was really effective. Nice guitar wailing. Good job!

Great set of sounds here, loving the distorted bass and flanged guitar. The dissonances the organ brings in really elevate the tension. In the midsection, again the keys and guitars playing off each other give this a very cool sound that's real ear candy! Excellent jam, y'all!

For anyone who had already listened to this: I just posted a re-mixed version to make it sound waaay less muddy and remove the low-end buzz that was not apparent on my other headphones :(

All around enjoyable listen! Great guitar work throughout and the quieter middle section gave a nice contrast.

Reading your description I can completely relate to this experience. Sometimes something has to happen to bring a song to the right track. It's hard for me to accept that not every song needs vocals. This bassline is dope and I like the heavy guitar. Bringing in a church organ is super cool! I like that you used calm, dramatic and loud parts. I just love the part around 3:20 - and the solo at the end. Well done!

Nice work! That organ makes a really Deep Purple kind of vibe too this. Old school hard rocking heavy metal!

I like the way this one starts with the organ (swapping the synth out for the organ was a great idea) and then goes full metal. Even when just the organ is playing, you can hear the metal foreshadowed in the music.
