I am just playing. I become more familiar with my toys by using them so it is often
experimental. The lyrics are expressions of everything around me and how that feels, a deeper understanding.
Far & wide
In places unimaginable
Were those cries or songs of the weary
Pierce my heart
The drumbeats were intangible
As the earth shook in time to the furry
Scorched the land
The lava flow
Took everything in its path
Where was the sky
We do not know
The sun's warmth blocked by ash
A flock of whitetail terns
Surf the winds of constant motion
Through the ashen mist & fog blowing about
Whitecaps dance below
In waters that belong to the ocean
Was the tide coming in or going out.
The fear came, an emotional reaction
Passed down from many generations
Somehow we live to see another day
Far & wide
In places we imagine
Co-creating from a different age
Wisdom should let us know
When it's time to let go
Of things we think we know
That only leave dissatisfaction
Why do we hold on to
So many things that have no glue
False beliefs we call tradition
Far & wide
In places we imagine
Let those we gave birth to have their dance

If the Grateful Dead were an animist gospel band.... I like the loose, open feel of the arrangement, all that vivid natural imagery, the catchy three-note melodic hook, the rhythm changes- so much good stuff here!

That 4/4 to 3/4 was quite a nice change!
