Though the drums do sound good, @juhol might be onto something regarding removing them for this piece! :) The soundscapes might work best if they spoke for themselves.
I think the chord progression starts to wear down on me a bit towards the end of the song. I think it could work better as a shorter piece.
In any case overall great job and nice soundscapes!
Cool vintageish warbling sounds! Regarding the drums: have you considered removing them entirely? In my opinion the drums are just a distraction here. I throw you a challenge: Make another ambient piece without any kind of drums or percussive elements and let it just flow.
What an impressive and awesome soundscape! The transition at the 1:35 mark is incredibly effective. Then after 2:45, when most of the texture cuts out, it's downright dreamy and ethereal.
For what it's worth, I think the drum parts work fine, repetitive or not. On the off chance you were looking to the Peanut Gallery for thoughts:
Here and there, you could maybe sneak a few ghost notes inside the existing groove, and play with gain ever-so-slightly in the mix from phrase to phrase. These will be "felt" more than "heard," but still create the sense of variety, in my opinion.
Really love the atmospheric pad sounds...super cool vibe on this tune! Love the haunting change up. Really nice wonky sound design in the 2nd half of the song. Happy FAWM! :-)

I like this that you have enough that is consistent, which bringing other textures in. Good job.

Fantastic feedback @seanbrennan I'll have a play about with adding some variation into the drums into the next revision.
Thank you @kanttila and @spiderhound1 for the kind words
