Last night I was drinking wine and decided to see what happened when I let it tell my voice what to do. Ended up recording 15 vocal tracks, 12 of which I used, up to 9 of which are playing at a time. Arranged/edited today.
When I record this way (if you're interested in process) I sing a phrase for 8 bars, three times in a row. Then I record another track on top of that, repeat, until there's no more sonic space to fill. Then I pare back, then I arrange, then I affect the vocals, then I adjust the levels. The voice is my favourite instrument to play.
The wine made me do it

Brilliant vocal arrangement. Wine has made me do some odd things in my time too :-) Have you noticed how some wines make you melancholic, others joyful, others forgetful, etc. I didn't notice this as much until I moved to Catalunya and lived in a wine making area, where wine was relatively cheap and plentiful. There I started noticing that certain bottles consistently left me with a particular feelings. I now have my favourites and avoid others.

This is SO GOOD, Leslie! I am always impressed by your knack for harmony, and this really takes that knack to the max. Gorgeous experiment! :D

Oh this is sooooo jazzy, I love it! Maybe I should drink some wine too :D And I agree with you, voice is also my favorite instrument to play :)

Very glad the wine forced your hand because it's produced something inspired and unique. Well edited and crafted. You use your favourite instrument very effectively!

God, some of those harmonies are so, so tight. You have an excellent ear, voice, and rhythmic instincts.

This is so dang fun! This sounds exactly like what wine would make me do. Bouncy, sassy, silly— well done!

Super cool! Love the energy of this. I don't think I could create anything this beautiful after wine. I like the jazziness!
@eyeronic Feb 2022
This is so Zin! Playful intense and full body vocal. Nice taste.
@jorh Feb 2022
This is wildly inventive, beautiful harmonies! I think if I tried this after a bottle of wine the results would be a disaster haha
@rwhosings Feb 2022
What a fun way to play! Perfectly enjoyed with a glass of red. Slainte!
@gardeningangel1 Feb 2022
Gaaahhh, this is delicious!!! Was it a rich, full-bodied wine? Because that's how it sounds. Makes me feel loosened up and dancey. The interwoven layers so expertly blended, not so sweet as to be cloying, with wood-windsy bottom notes and a refreshing, clean finish.
My palate is pleased.

Well, this is gonzo in a completely lovely way. Positively bacchanalian. Very much conveys the manic feel of the kind of parties I never get invited to. So much fun! :)
