TW: sexual assault
This is a letter to the boy who took so much from me. It was so healing and cathartic to write
Verse 1: When the flame of innocence is stomped out and I’m left to weather your storm now. You held my head for weeks on end, now I don’t even dream about you. Remember when you said I’d never make it without you?
Chorus: Does the weight of your sins against me hold you down? Did you think before you left me to figure this shit out? My pain stains you like a tattoo. What’s it like to be a traitor like you?
Verse 2: 8 years later it still hurts. Some days are fine, some are worse. Tried to pacify my reeling mind, honey it was your doing. Your unwelcome touch so consuming.
Repeat chorus
Verse 3: Maybe one day justice will find you, like a shadow there to remind you of a girl who loved you so but you betrayed her. What’s it like to be a traitor?
