Well I went over to Titular to get a start on things and saw "no, no". That was it! Why complicate things on the first one! :)
NOTE: Paul Harrison added music to this lyric. Listen here: https://fawm.org/songs/129351/
No, No
I can’t let the cold
Keep me trapped inside
I’ve got a couple dreams
That won’t wait in line
I shiver and I shake
Hold a load of doubt
But I still see snow glisten on
The drifts beside my house
[ch]
No, no
My heart is shifting ties
Can you see it in my eyes
A spark out of the dark
No it won’t compromise
It’s poised in all the noise
And it won’t run and hide
No, no…Oh….no, no
It’s a tepid sun
But I can feel its heat
I won’t let a setback
Knock me off my feet
I know I’m not alone
On this weary planet
I’m here to rise and shine
Not to understand it
[ch]
No, no
My heart is shifting ties
Can you see it in my eyes
A spark out of the dark
No it won’t compromise
It’s poised in all the noise
And it won’t run and hide
No, no…Oh….no, no
[br]
And it takes my breath away
That clear blue sky
The eagles, fawns and children
Don’t need to ask why
Repeat ch

The need to be free in defiance of the setbacks, the "cold" in this metaphor is really nicely conveyed. And of course innocents and nature won't be hindered and we can learn from that. Well done.

Very beautiful and powerful lyrics Kristi. Looking forward to hearing them.

Aw, this is a beautiful write, Kristi. I love the rhyming and visions that came to mind as I read through this. Please let me know when the music is set! I'd love to hear it :) And thanks so much for your kind words on the cat song. Allergies are definitely a struggle!

Hi Kristi! I like your lyrics...the imagery, the positive feelings that are defiant in spite of the darkness (which you refer to but thankfully don't dwell on). I write music and lyrics but would enjoy trying to come up with some music for this (maybe suggest lyric changes if it helps mesh with the music). If you would be interested, please let me know. I would suggest first listening to some of my songs on my Soundcloud playlist (see my profile) since they vary somewhat in style. If you do want me to give it a go, I probably can't work on it until next week since I'm traveling this weekend. Regardless, great job on the lyrics and I'll try to follow whatever else you share.

Brilliant Kristi!! It's funny how it is just one word that prompts us. I so love this!
