Let’s pretend we’re OK
Love can last another day
Even if the sorrows and all the pain
And the troubles are here again
Come the morning, darling, we will be fine
I know we will
I tried to be there for you
Dreaming alone dreams for two
Even if I know it was all in vain
I guess I’d probably do it all again
I know one day, darling, we’ll be fine
I think we will
Hold me now
Take me somewhere else
I don’t want it to be over yet
Let me go
Cause our time has passed
We can’t be together
I used to think you were the one
But our love was undone
Even if there’s no one to blame
And things will never be the same
I still think they will be fine
I know they will

Great lyrics. I'll bet a lot of people can relate to them at some point in their life. I like how, in spite of the relationship ending, your lyrics look to a brighter future with a message of don't give up, you'll be fine. I really like this melody too. Wonderful song!

Bittersweet but ultimately perhaps a bit hopeful, I very much got into the story being told here. And the ukulele adds just the right delicate touch. Excellent use of the instrument to add just the right atmosphere to the words!

This is wonderful- it carries on that age-old tradition of playing sad songs on a 'happy' instrument (uke, or banjo, typically). I love the vocal phrasing there, really has alot of personality.
@gm7 Feb 2022
A solid uke sound and the playing is stellar. and the bridge has a cool chord progression. Well done
@splittybooms Feb 2022
Liking this right of bat. I think I'm a sucker for this sound; that kind of happy/sad uke sound. It makes me sway but also kinda sad.
Your great lyrics add to this. Pretty sad moment when that realization that this ain't the one sets in.
I don't know if I've heard you sing on a track before, but this was a delight as your vocal performance is heartfelt. I think I like songs that are just a uke and a vocal. Add an earnest vocal performance singing relatable melancholy lyrics and I'm digging it all the way.

What a lovely-sounding uke you have! Bravo, beautifully played and I love your melody. This always seems like such a difficult instrument for lower-range voices, and I think you really pulled it off.
@tseaver Feb 2022
Good write: the ambiguity between "I think we will" and "I know we will" makes the whole song. Fun uke accompaniment, too!
@gilhari Feb 2022
A beautiful bittersweet love song. Smart lyrics and very heartfelt. How do you make the ukulele lele the way you do? It made me emotional!
@nadine Feb 2022
Why do ukuleles always sound happy?! Even with these lyrics?! I liked the high stringently like you implemented. Great
@darcistrutt Feb 2022
Nice contrast to have a "happy" instrument used in a sad song. I like the sound of the ukulele - very nice strumming. Sad lyric. The hanging "yet..." made me fill in the end. And, yes it is "World" or "International" "Play Your Ukulele Day"...as it should be.
@timfatchen Feb 2022
I know it's a break-up song but it sounds so hopeful with the uke accompaniment. Good stuff!
[I've got my uke/groundhog written but haven't been able to record, <sob>. Tomorrow. <sob>]

I loved this song a lot!!!!! Great job starting super strong fawm!
@jacobeverettwallace Feb 2022
Absolutely love that melody! It takes special talent to make a uke sound engaging and you've got that in spades here. You've really captured that optimistically sad vibe and I really enjoyed that. Well done.
@kanttila Feb 2022
Nice uke tune, solid melody with a lot of space.
@kenmattsson Feb 2022
Nice job Beto! It's my first time hearing you play and your strumming is great! Nice wistful feel to it.
@beat Feb 2022
A love song for a Uke… awesome!
@phylo Feb 2022
Ah, it's nice to hear a good uke song. Even though it's sad, well done Beto, it's a good song.
@ductapeguy Feb 2022
Such a pretty melody for such a sad, melancholic song. This is a keeper.
@aeye Feb 2022
I love a good uke song. Great lyrics! I find they can be so hard to write. You did a great job.
