Written for the Week 1 Body Part challenge, and I managed to include a few body parts within the lyrics.
Think it could work as a singer-songwriter song, accompanied by acoustic guitar or piano?
Funny bone
(Verse 1)
I've got a heart that pumps blood
But I'm told that it's not heart shaped
I thought a neck was just a neck
Til my doc said I'd bruised my nape
(Chorus)
But I feel like such a failure
Cos I don't have a funny bone
I've hit it so many times but
All I do is groan
Funny bone
Funny bone..
No, I don't have a funny bone
Funny bone
Funny bone...
No, I don't have a funny bone
(Verse 2)
I've got feet that belong to an athlete
At least until the powder works
And a back that reminds me it's here
By how much it hurts
(Chorus)
But I feel like such a failure
Cos I don't have a funny bone
I've hit it so many times but
All I do is groan
Funny bone
Funny bone..
No, I don't have a funny bone
Funny bone
Funny bone...
No, I don't have a funny bone
(Bridge)
I've tried rubber hammers
Metal hammers
Rulers, high heels
Spoons and spanners
Hitting, tapping
Knocking, bashing
Thrashing, tickling
Whacking, lashing
(Chorus)
But I feel like such a failure
Cos I don't have a funny bone
I've hit it so many times but
All I do is groan
Funny bone
Funny bone..
No, I don't have a funny bone
Funny bone
Funny bone...
No, I don't have a funny bone

i like it. it is hard when you lose your sense of humour, but ironically it is very present here. love the athlete's foot gag, nicely structured. and funny bone is a funny phrase, can imagine that chorus being very catchy!

Hee hee! I feel this is too relatable, lol! Thought the athlete's foot gag was clever.

Pretty cute. I once wrote (part of) a song called "My Racist Bone"—you know, based on those people who say "I don't have a racist bone in my body!" I couldn't figure out how to make it clear which side I was on without making it dull and obvious, so I gave up.
Anyway, this is fun, especially when it gets to "Hitting, tapping/Knocking, bashing/Thrashing, tickling/Whacking, lashing."

I think you've got a good start to a song here, but I don't think its singer-songwriter style. The choruses might lend themselves to full band production.
