Came from Paul McCartney's book The Lyrics. I write and play because of the Beatles and Paul McCartney especially. The book was an amazing gift and I am so enjoying it because I Love lyrics and especially those by the Beatles and McCartney. In Paul's intro to the book there is a few paragraphs at the end talking about how they were in a huge blizzard and trying to get to their next gig early on in their career. They slid off the road and they were all in a ditch in the van looking up at the edge of the road wondering how in the world they were going to get back up there and Paul remembers that one of them, he doesn't remember who, said well something will happen. Muse struck, song written.
It might be today
It might be tomorrow
But who can say
Is it Joy or Sorrow
Just bring me the news
Tell me what it says
Don’t care if its bad
Or whats in my head
Chorus
Something will happen today
Something will go our way
Something will happen I say
Let it be good this day
Let it be good I pray
Something will happen today
The news never stops
In its endless hunger
For rumors and lies
On lives to plunder
Lets come to confess
And stop all this hate
Lets remember our past
Before it is all too late
Chorus 2x

Nice guitar intro, has a "Here Comes the Sun" vibe. Nice rhyme structure. I definitely like the hopefulness this expresses. Great work!

Beautiful. I just heard the "something will happen" quote on a podcast the other day and it stuck with me and it's so cool to hear it in this song. I can definitely hear the Beatles influences.
