Had to move out of Brixton because of the pandemic. Last November visited my old home and this song is about the feelings I had being there.
I took a walk today in my old neighborhood
I thought how much had changed and that put me in a weird mood
Kennington Park sill looks very lush
People walking running walking running
What's the rush?
I took a walk today in my old neighborhood
On the corner of the street a black BMW
Man just sitting there I know what you're up to, no good
The fluffy grey cat still walking on a leash
I guess the owner has a new girlfriend or maybe she has just used some bleach
I took a walk today in my old neighborhood
I felt a bit scared, why is that man watching me
The color of my skin is so fair, I look sick easily
Light still flashing below that arch
I heard they're going to tear that house down next March
I took a walk today in my old neighborhood
I took another round, walked through the market ground
but couldn't find that ice cream van
He might've closed for the season
or there's another reason
Maybe he is back in his home land
I could've stayed a bit longer but felt my memories got stronger
like old girlfriend I don't want to love her no longer
I took a walk today in my old neighborhood

Nicely done - good rhythm and creative images

This is great!! Wow. Reminds me a little bit of Kate Nash (and that is meant as a a huge compliment by the way). You've a lovely tone to your voice. Love all the 'tickly' percussion and as @ddd mentioned the bouncy piano. I really enjoyed this.

This is a delightful song. So many visuals that put me right there in the neighborhood. I enjoyed the harmonies and reflective nature of it all. Nicely conveyed!

Lovely bouncing piano line. Enjoyed the percussion too, perfectly blends with the walkabout theme. Great stuff!

This is such a fun intro! The rhythm combo of percussion and piano makes me feel like I’m going for a walk. Very fitting.

I’m sure there is a film montage for this somewhere. Great rhythm to this track

wistful, yet witty. I like the way some of the lines are fast paced, obviously love the harmonies too! Organ outro solo is a nice touch :)

Lovely groove.

This is incredible. Absolutely love it.

Adore your voice in the groove of this song. Lyrics paint a vivid picture. Harmonies are very well done.

Oh this is so easy to listen to, feel like I’m walking along with you. Sounds very relaxed even with the complex rhyming/rhythm. Love it x

I'm a fan of internal rhyme. The way DAY and NEIGHborhood work here, is tight. I dig that descending line and the musical resolve is very satisfying. Lastly, the analogy of the neighborhood to an old love is strong finish. Nicely done!
