This is just a rough idea I've had to get things started :) It's about making a hard decision in a relationship to preserve your boundaries. It's about prioritising yourself when somebody tries to take advantage of your good nature.
I recorded this in the kitchen on my phone with a cup of tea on the go, full of the cold. Nice and raw! (and snotty)
You were a lesson that I never knew I needed
Took more from me than I had to give
But when I left you oh you begged and how you pleaded
For another chance to say the words you've said 1000 times
And it's not that I don't love you but I had to say goodbye
Because I love myself that little bit more
And it's too late to change my mind I gave you all the time you need
You took me for granted
But I'll never love you more than I love me

Your voice and guitar playing are both beautiful. I like the rhythm of your lyrics a lot, and the attitude. Good writing.

My favorite lines bookend this song, "You were a lesson that I never knew I needed. . . "But I'll never love you more than I love me." Well said sister, and good for you. Some of us, many of us, never learn the lesson, and can't love themselves enough to make that decision. Great guitar playing!

Love the sentiment. Lifting but also a bit sad. There is totally a great song in there.
PS: if you reply on your own "wall", the people you reply to won't see it. Best to reply on their wall. It is a FAWM quirk.

Love the idea. Keep going! :) Nice guitar playing too.

This is an excellent start! Love the driving rhythm. Final line is a fantastic keeper. Can't wait to hear more!

loving that last line - such a good reminder for anyone! cracking start to your first FAWM Jess!

Great start Jess! And agree this is so relatable. :)

Oh yes. Loving the sentiment behind this song. Very relatable. Also, the rhythm of the lyrics, I really like. This one is a keeper and I can't wait to hear the full version.

Thank you @jtsteam :) I appreciate that!

short and sweet, really nice tone to the vocal

I like the sound of this! The lyrics fit the melody beautifully and that last line is great. Looking forward to seeing how it develops!
