I'm not going to look it up, but I think "Moonache" might be Victorian slang for a menstruel cycle.
I'm digging it up, this one way street
banging on the garbage can with wheels made of stardust and muddled wheat
I'm eating it up here on Dipshit Avenue
with really convincing billboards selling me on a new me and you
[I love everybody]
With neat little sneaks riding super high on cloud nine
[I love everybody]
and anyone with slightly over 10,000 followers
----------------------------------------------------
I'm living it up with a building made of mirrors
so I can see the world's biggest idiot
with a hundred thousand eyes
----------------------------------------------------
I like your dog
I like your god
I like your religious upbringing
and your lack of critical thought
I like your face
I wish you had two
I know I'll find it in there
Just me and my boo
[I love everybody]
You got so many likes
How could I not be with you?
[I love everybody]
Two plus two is only two
It's just me and you.
---------------------------------------------------
I'm digging it up, that old grave they buried me in
Because nobody got to see the makeup job that Graveyard Billy did for free
I'm digging it up because the world has got to know me
How can you say I'm dead if you didn't get a funeral selfie?
[I love everybody]

Ah great start to the year! Instrumentation is fantastic, love the lyrics, almost had me for a sec until Dipshit Avenue came into the picture. Those layered chorus vocals man, great job.
@carleybaer Feb 2022
A delightful indictment of insta culture. The final verse killed me, no pun attended.
@deena Feb 2022
I love the sound of this... the guitars are so crisp and defined. Great vocals!
@woolford Feb 2022
Aaaaaah! This is wonderful.
Notes to self on FAWM commenting:
1. Pick a favourite line- I can't, the whole thing is excellent
2. Don't say, "This reminds me of artist x"- I can't not say how much this put me in mind of Flight of the Conchords
3. Be kind- well that bit at least I can do - this is a fabulously dark and deliciously witty masterpiece.
Great stuff.

That vocal harmony cluster is unsettling and beautiful. Also unsettling: that strange panning synth(?) real low in the background. For a bare bones arrangement, this has a lot of interesting bits floating around.
@debrandio Feb 2022
What a wonderful upper, you got hold of the good stuff. I'm famished!!
@vomvorton Feb 2022
What a great start to the month - love that super up-close, clean guitar sound and the sparse production with the big chorus vocal layers really, as the kids say, "pops". Very witty and sharp lyric too, but that probably goes without saying!
@negasi Feb 2022
This is amazing. Love the commentary and the (I love everybody) sounds so pleasing to my ears. Lyrically I am in love with this "wheels made of stardust and muddled wheat" agh its beautiful <3

Captain, my captain. How I've missed your harmonies & the worlds you build within your songs. I really like the social commentary built into this song & the simple arrangement that serves just to deliver the lyric (tho the swirling backward guitar in the background at one point was a marvelous touch!). It's a different sound for you, it seems, but at the same time, still very much what we have all come to expect from the great Captain Vulpine!
See You In The Shadows…
@bradbrubaker Feb 2022
Impressed you made a song with the subtitle I Love Everybody so acerbic.
@axl Feb 2022
As I expected this is a pleasure to listen to. But I didn’t expect it would be sweet too. Like a Smashing Pumpkins ballad with a touch of acid to spice it up.
@frey Feb 2022
The verses are my fav part, can't get enough of that starting melody!! And that final line is EVERYTHING
@sapient Feb 2022
Oh, man, what a delight to start a Wedensday morning. A new Vulpine song! Woo!
This is so very restrained, and yet still has those explosive undercurrents we know and love.
@theodamus Feb 2022
Excuse me, why is this so good? You have nailed a cynical exuberance in lyrics, delivery and arrangement, it’s so genuine how could it not be except for also how could you ever think it was? “I'm living it up with a building made of mirrors so I can see the world's biggest idiot with a hundred thousand eyes” is the kind of line that is going to stick in my head forever. Love you work
@thedutchwidows Feb 2022
This is great. I love the lyrics, I love the sparse production, musically really nice, and the multi-vocal on "I love everybody" absolutely hits the spot! I did look it up, but I'm not going to say what I found.
