I wanted to do a more country, bluegrass song with a resonator, banjo, and fiddle, but as I was making it, things changed. I think a cover could still do that. The drums are merely a click track. I need bassline, and some keys as well. If you want to help fill-in some music or vocal harmony, let me know through my SoundCloud message or on my soundboard. I can provide midi / sheet music for the main vocal harmony to work on.
Edit: I have finished the collabs.

Chorus
Wait on me
Wait on me
Though my body be broken
And heel is bruised
On my way
On my way
There's a lump in my throat
And I'm black and blue
Verse 1
I was there
I can say that I finished
I dragged myself across that line
Was unprepared when body my past that limit
Pushing on to overdrive
Chorus
Verse 2
I prevailed
Hard knocks are what they're giving
I did it all in twice the time
Blood, sweat and dear let me tell you how I did it
One foot stepping at a time
Chorus with repeating: There's a lump in my throat
And I'm black and blue

I had to come and listen this also without the guitar and violin and now I only appreciate your voice even more. The small little things you do with your voice. I simply love it!
@darcistrutt Feb 2022
I listened to this with DragonDreams and decided I needed to hear the beginning version too. Lovely.
@roddy Feb 2022
This is great. I'd happily add bass or piano but I think you already have quite a few very fine musicians willing to add to it. Excellent performance.
@timfatchen Feb 2022
Listened to the filled version first. But this one has a serious sparseness and it appeals.
@katestantonsings Feb 2022
What a voice; it's so emotive. So good!
@pippa Feb 2022
This is so good. I had to listen again, immediately. I love the spare empty accompaniment. I'm so glad you didn't do it bluegrass style, I would have missed the entire song. So good to be back. HAAPY FAWM!
@gammafied Feb 2022
I have 2 renditions coming. I haven't really done this so they will be 2 separate pieces.
@musicsongwriter Feb 2022
Beautiful song with great potential. Love your voice.
@zeekle1998 Feb 2022
Such a rich vocal. So nice to listen too. I’ll be keen to hear with music.
@wobbiewobbit Feb 2022
wow what a voice. the a capella is very engaging, but i see it is going to get the dragondreams treatment so that will be cool too. the harmonies are amazing and the sound is so plaintive and rich-but-simple. nice work indeed
@engebretsen Feb 2022
wow. Extremly good voice on this. And as if there should be nothing more instrumentation. Just a small layer perhaps. But it really good as is.
@circle Feb 2022
These vocals are wonderful, especially love when they're doubled up. The song works great as it is like this, it sounds almost like some kind of workers song or a prayer/chant
@arthurrossi Feb 2022
This sparse musical arrangement, which suits the words in a very effective way, lets your gorgeous vocal delivery truly shine. I would not change anything about it, is is awesome as it is.... Verses and chorus work nicely. Enjoyed my listen a lot.
@jlampson Feb 2022
Even in this basic form, the song shines through, and that's a mark of a good song. Your voice really hit me, sounding every bit as honest as the story it was telling, like it was an actual, lived experience.
There are tons of amazing collaborators who have already offered to work to get this one finished with you, and I'm eager to hear the result of it. Thank you for gifting us with your expressive story and beautiful voice!
@tseaver Feb 2022
Nice write. Pulls out the endurance of the downtrodden / down-and-out who yet persevere. The sparse arrangement actually works well here.
@unknownbecky Feb 2022
I love this! It's such an anthem but also so meditative at the same time. Easy to imagine a whole hall of people singing along. Verse 2 is my favorite—I love every single lyric there. I generally keep my comments about the songwriting and not the performance, but I am also moved to say that I love your voice!
@dragondreams Feb 2022
Wow!
I love it! And I'd like to take a stab at putting a backing together for it, if you're willing to let the Castle Dragondreams Houseband loose with your song.
@edwardsmusic Feb 2022
Very nice expression in your vocals, with the drum beat holding things down!
@nadine Feb 2022
I'm a big fan of your voice. This is a great prompt for an upbeat blues. Hope someone comes around with a double bass. A good guitarist or pianist would nail that. I wish I could help you but I can't play boogie T_T
Tag it with #needs-bass and #needs-music . Fingers crossed!
@meadows Feb 2022
Wow! Your voice is a gift, I love it. Even though this song comes with sparse instrumentation (or click track as you say) it does unfold its magic and you could easily say it's on purpose. :)
