have fun NOT being gay
that's what the t-shirt said
in our heads
laughing out loud for a few minutes
before we got distracted by the drinks in our hands
the lions peppermints in my pocket like they've
been the last 6 months
the way that single strand of your hair sticks to your forehead
the way my eyes respond to it
you could draw me like one of your french girls
and probably do it justice
spend a little too much time on my boobs
but i like it
you know i can't help but see the little things
i've counted 12 spiders since we've been out here
i can't help it
and both of our knees are shaking in our seats
you look up suddenly and i catch your smile
you say "have fun NOT being gay"
laughing as i get another drink

Really captured a moment in a beautiful way here. The playing and vocals are perfect for being pulled into the scene. Great work on the lyrics and all around. The french girls stanza is also really funny in a way that feels very personal.

I really, really love when lyrics are able to zero in on something really specific, make an allusion to the story before the lyrics, and we can infer so much about the song's protagonist(s), what they've been through, etc. I think you've accomplished a lot here.

Really lovely tones to both your voice at that guitar, and really, really great storytelling. Nice!!

You've painted a really evocative vignette here. Gorgeous capturing of a moment!

Really nicely done. You have always have a way with words, and this is no exception. I'm digging the acoustic guitar part, as well.

Wow, this is stunning. I love songs that highlight smaller moments to bring out something larger underneath, and you do it perfectly here.

Really enjoy the almost spoken word vibe to this one. You have a really distinctive and engaging voice. I could hear this song in an indie film soundtrack if that makes any sense. Great work.
