I have discovered my great grandmother wrote songs, I never knew. I found a few songs of hers that I want to bring a new life to, as they were written in 1937 before rock and disco. I believe one would call this a derivative work.
I know I have no right to love you
But these things happen every day
And sure as there's a sky above you
I'm being truthful when I say
In my heart of hearts I'm thinking of you
In my heart of hearts I'll alway love you
Though at times it seems I must despair
In my sweetest dreams, you're always there
I've tried and tried not to reveal it
Because I felt you'd never guess
But now I find I can't conceal it
Darling to you I will confess
I shall smile along though my heart is sad, Dear
Can it be so wrong this love for you?
In my heart of hearts I can't be glad, Dear
In your heart of hearts you know it's true...

So cool with the backstory on this; collaboration across the generations. Tackling the timeless issue of not being able to control who and what we love. Nice prog and vocal take.

Wow this is superb. So can you clarify for me, have you picked up parts of the song your grandma wrote, the lyrics maybe. I loved this. It has a real flow about it and has instantly stuck in my head. thank you for a lovely morning listen
