This was a fun one to write. Started with the chorus to meet the Body Part challenge. I usually start with verses, but really enjoyed this way of writing.
crash testing how fast can I go
cement wall, totaled, I didn't know
there were soft faces and touching with hands
stepped in a crack, crash land
dreams awaken an open gold mine
accidental cave in, we're losing time
running and racing around
toss my mind into the lost and found
always been seeking the purest of art
I never start with an even-keeled heart
turn on the engine press down on the gas
get in the front seat, we're moving fast
heading to places that we do not know
let's watch the sunset, there is goes
tell me your secrets, I'll give you the key
to come to my house whenever you need
running and racing around
toss my mind into the lost and found
always been seeking the purest of art
I never start with an even-keeled heart
I wake and wait
I wake and wait
good morning my lover, how did you sleep
you ready, I'm ready this could be neat
I'll fold the laundry, you make the bed
living this life, in my head
oh wait, I'm asleep a fantasy known
I think I am waking, I think I'm alone
running and racing around
toss my mind into the lost and found
always been seeking the purest of art
I never start with an even-keeled heart

Fascinating progression and melody, top to bottom. I'm impressed by how confidently lived-in your vocal is. It's like you've played this song for years. And damn, "wait" is clean as a bell ring.

I like this light-hearted frolic with lovely lyrics! Nice vocal gymnastics too!

What a great melody! I love the modulations you did, and the range and hold of that “wake and wait” was so lovely.
Your video and sound is so good too! What a treat to see you on here again :-)

Briget! So happy to see you back, this is great! A fun song, I felt like I was dancing around while listening to it.
