I have a vestibular disorder which means that sometimes I have trouble walking. When I saw that the weekly challenge for Week 1 was Body Parts, I came up with the ideas for this song.
Footsteps misjudge the open floor
Hands reach out to find
A grip, a grab, a line
The harder the fight
The harder the fall
Refuse every help til there’s none at all
Head in hands
When a body won’t stand
Head in hands
When limbs won’t follow their command
Head in hands
When a body won’t stand
Books become stacks, become obstacles
Hunt for an answer that might never come
Pages of scrawls and calendar-ed falls
Is it catharsis or just rubbing salt in a wound
Did last year ever help today?
Head in hands
When a body won’t stand
Head in hands
When limbs won’t follow their command
Head in hands
When a body won’t stand
To never try is to never know
To never try is to never know
To never try is to never know, and that can’t stand
Head in hands
When a body won’t stand
Head in hands
When limbs won’t follow their command
Head in hands
When a body won’t stand

Oh I LOVE this. Beautiful guitar playing. Super vocal. Love the phrasing. Really nice, almost staggering. Great chorus. Love the head in hands refrain. Great job, more please!!

I really enjoyed this song. Tough topic well handled..it is brave to be so exposed. But, that's just the base... your song is very well constructed. Love the pause before the chorus. Lovely voice. Thank you for sharing.

I really enjoyed this song. Nice guitar and the lyrics and your vocals are great. Brave of you to write about your disorder.
For the past few years my right knee has been failing due to many sports injuries. Kind of always took walking for granted, but was forced to adjust my expectations. I had a total knee replacement surgery in October and while I’m much better, still getting used to a new kind of walking.
