I saw that the weekly challenge was Body parts and my brain immediately went: "like... literal body parts?" so I wrote this little morbid piece about a group of people who gets their body parts found or chopped off in different ways. It's very inspired by Beetlejuice the musical and various Tim Burton inspired music.
Once FAWM is done, I'm gonna turn this into a full piece with a proper choir. And also fix the pronoun problem. (It goes from a group of killers to just one person) and also the lyrics should've been "for horrible reasons you'll never discover"
But also wrote this in a rush. Sorry for the awful vocal performance that I like to call "rush everything before the neighbour complains"
One foot in the grave
One hand in the other
For a horrible reason
You will soon discover
My body's in pieces
Scattered around
Hoping that one day
Each piece will be found
He cut of my hand
And threw it in the sand
When the kids found my finger
The horror still lingers
My skin has been burned
And soon they will learn
Without fingerprints
I'm a John doe in an urn
-chorus-
And I'm just a head
And it's clear that I'm dead
It happened at night
on my way to bed
They took out a knife
And started slicing and dicing
Then they ate my fiance
She was appetizing
-chorus-
This horrible killer
He ripped out my liver
He sold it for money
It was fed ex delivered
He ripped out my spine
And said it was fine
Now I am boneless
Blurred in with dirt and vines
-chorus-

This made me giggle. It's definitely got an off-beat, not quite horror vibe to it. Don't know Beetlejuice the musical, but I can imagine from seeing Tim Burton movies that this is the kind of thing that would fit really well. I love the kind of shanty feel and the chorus really adds to that. Nicely done.

Hahaha! I'm into it. The descending guitar theme fits the dark lyrics. "They ate my fiancee" So good.
