Well, this came out of nowhere in a hurry! I knew pretty early on what kind of vibe I wanted to go with, and I'm pretty happy with the result.
I always start these things in the most unexpected of ways, and this time is no different. This was reaching pretty far out of my comfort zone.
Also, I highly recommend trying to write a song in 9/8. It's a fun challenge!
Cold and writhing
Immaterial
Too many thoughts at once
Too many thoughts at once
Feels like static
Changing, channeling
It hits me all at once
It hits me all at once
Left me somewhere by the road
Now my mind is not my own
They're gonna take it away
Then they'll expect you to pay
Don't you remember the way back?
Chasing rabbits
Inner animal
I can't contain myself
I can't detain myself
Broken planet
Severed, liminal
I'm grasping at your straw
I'm grasping for your straw
Hearing voices in the wind
But I never let them in
They're gonna take it away
Then they'll expect you to pay
Don't you remember the way back?
Don't let it tear you away
Does everything look okay?
Just search yourself for the way back

This opening is somewhere between Puscifer, Bjork, and latter-day Mars Volta. I said this on In Water but your sense of soundscapes is great. Just got to 1:40 in this and that additional keyboard layer is yet another example of you putting _just_ the right amount of icing on these parts.
Simply stunning. Great work and thanks for sharing this.

Totally original and unexpected! Like nothing I've ever heard before! You're taking me on a psychedelic journey.

such an awesome structure, starting w that simple beat then building up to such majesty before it drops away and repeats itself. the verses remind me of Medulla-era Bjork, and that chorus slaps, as the kids say. i could listen to that chorus all day
i've never tried 9/8, but i will!

Love the heavy beats. Nice ethereal vocal layers. Well done!

This vocal is amazing! Big fan of the crushing, industrial percussion as well

Reminds me a little bit of Tool with the vocals. Love the percussion work. Very enjoyable.
