To the obvious tune. I'd say I'm sorry, but...
I need to learn a song, I have a concert coming
Perhaps one new to me, or maybe something old?
I will set some time, maybe this evening
I just can't do it now
For who knows where the time goes
Who knows where the time goes
And now a week has gone, I haven't learned a new song
I should make a list, get organized somehow
I need to find the words, and hear the tune once more
I just can't get the rhyme
For who knows where the time goes
Who knows where time goes
My concert is next week, I haven't started playing
I'd better do old stuff, I have no time for new
The days have just flown by, I had not time to practice
Oh no - what am I to do
For who knows where the time goes
Who know where the time goes

Thanks for your comments on "Don't be a Stranger". I probably didn't write a tune for the same reason you didn't put music to "Who Knows". If I put mine to music, maybe I can do your too??

The tune was obvious to me. And you are not one bit sorry; I know you, remember? But maybe all the time I have lost is out partying with yours. My days used to fly by like a crow but now they’ve rented a jet plane. Could be the start of a different parody.

For those who are wondering - the tune is "Who Knows Where the Time Goes", performed by Sandy Denny and Fairport Convention.

I don't know what tune this is to, but I certainly know that feeling of time slipping away and having nothing to show for it.

So relatable! Writing songs about songwriting (and/or struggling with songwriting) can sometimes be just the thing to help break through. Very much in the spirit of FAWM.

An interesting, possibly self-referential, approach; the song can be its own subject. :)

Tune actually not obvious Pegi.
