wrote this little ditty with songwriter Bryan Freedman
inspired by La Luna in all her glory
I know you are scared when
my pillow is bare
In the middle of the night
There's a celestial secret I must share
To shed a little light
I've fallen for the moon
You’ll say it's much too soon
But the sunlights star refraction
Has swallowed my attraction
My heart is inside the moon
I must confess that
I too have transgressed
And fallen for someone new
I’ve been sneaking at night and I saw a face
I’ve been staring so long and now I want a taste
I've fallen for the moon
It seems that you have too
the sunlights pale reflection
Has gained all my affection
My heart is with the moon
I just had a thought and it’s giving me chills
What was the time you went out for a thrill?
O it must have been half past three
I fell for the moonface topography
I looked to the sky the same hour as you
Its craters were singing a familiar tune
It’s cheek had a freckle! Hey I know that dimple!
I am so foolish! It is so simple!
I saw you in the moon
You couldn’t come too soon
But the moonlight made it clearer
How much I want you nearer
Cause this happy little threesome
Was just a you and me-some
I thought I was untrue
But I’ve been falling for you

Just plain awesome!

I'm a sucker for technical terms woven into the fabric of a love song, and this one pulls them off with aplomb.
A cute little story with a twist in the tail, and clever-yet-conversational lyrics that make all trois members of the menage come to life. The voices and uke accompaniment fill in the lines with the perfect bright colours.

So much fun. And clever lyrical twists and turns.
"You and me-some" is such a great set up rhyme too. :)

This is so dang charming. I love the uke accompaniment, you've managed to get so much jazz out of that little guy. The two of you have the perfect delivery for these sweet lyrics as well. Just lovely and so cute.

This is incredible. Wow. What a unique idea lyrically, the arc of the story is really well-crafted and the last chorus hits perfectly. Also, great duet tradeoffs -- you both have gorgeous voices. The key changes are really well-executed in this tune.
I'd love to hear a clarinet solo or something in a studio recording!

The title caught me. XD Who hasn't fallen for the moon? The comparison of craters to dimples is simply adorable.
