This is about finally moving on from something by dealing with it the right way, and not burying it down.
When I was 17 I had a bad break-up, and my sister told me that they say it takes half as long as the relationship lasted to get over that person. I know that's not true but it always stuck with me.
Title is inspired by the video game, which I've clearly been playing way too much of...
[Verse 1]:
For so long it felt like a path of coal underneath my soles
I had buried deep the seeds of what had withered
If we must endure half as long as the winter has
Been biding here, but I believe every word that my sister says
[Chorus]:
Let me know
How you wanna have it, if we’ve lost it all?
All the things I ever laid my eyes upon
I can see ‘em disappearing one by one
I used to fear the day
Love would leave us dangling and walk away
Now I thank the heavens that I did not stay
I can feel you disappearing day by day
[Verse 2]:
Now that I am healed, the scars no longer hold my stride
They’ll be constellations on a map that patterns light
[Chorus]:
Let me know
How you wanna have it, if we’ve lost it all?
All the things I ever laid my hands upon
I can feel ‘em disappearing one by one
I used to fear the day
Love would leave us dangling and walk away
Now I thank the heavens that I didn’t stay
I can feel you disappearing day by day
[Bridge]:
Tunnel vision and I’m heading straight for a collision, I can’t face away
And finally, memories are fading, you’ll be dead by daylight, go on, break away
[Verse 3/Outro]:
The sky is somehow a shade of white that feels emptier than the darkest night
The wind will keep my ember lit as I let the air inside

Came in for the video game reference, left feeling that I can still relate to other humans. <3

loved the bridge with the vision-collision collision
nice start!

I was thinking it was related to the video game but then started listening and was like wait am I just thinking too gamer-y, but now see in your liner notes, nice. I love your voice. Also, finally dropping the title in the lyrics was satisfactory :)
That is an interesting concept your sister came up with. One concept a friend mentioned that I found to kind of be happening with me was that at 7 years, either you break up or get married. But for me it was with 7 months-- not that I keep getting married after 7 months though ha

The lyrics are very relatable and I really enjoyed the bridge. But I know for a fact that you don’t believe everything your sister tells you bestie sksksks

ha, I also had a breakup where my friends told me it takes half as long as the relationship lasted to get over that person. I love the storytelling! Also your voice, combined with the words 'path of coals' 'seeds of what had withered', 'the wind will keep my ember lit' and the guitar made me think of The Witcher for some reason. It's very cool!

Great lyrical content and great chorus melodic exploration

Great tune, you sing it very well. Lots of great lines here, well done!

Ooh, I like the rhyme of "winter has" with "sister says." Just great lyrics all around. You put words to things I've also felt, like a white sky feeling emptier than the darkest night.

Scars evolving into constellations is a gorgeous image, hopeful even if the rest of the song isn't necessarily. I will be thinking about that one.

Very heartfelt lyrics to this song. I like how at the end it just kind of hangs instead of resolving.

This is really good, I particularly enjoyed the bridge, and the way you finished the song.

This is gorgeous! Your voice and the guitar play off each other really well and the lyrics are so good. I especially like verse 2.

Great to hear your voice again! There's a beauty to your honesty. And your vocal fits nicely over the guitar. Thanks for sharing
