Enough songwriting - I need to get back to work!
I’m in between the life I love and who I’m paid to be
Delicately balanced on a tightrope
It used to be a thrill to travel back and forth
Now I’m juggling stability and hope
And it’s hard… but it could be harder
Yeah it’s bad… but it could be worse
I always think I’ll make it up (or cover up at least)
My getaway is warming up outside
I hear the engine rumble like the voices in my mind
Reminding me there is no place to hide
And it’s hard… but it could be harder
Yeah it’s bad… but it could be worse
Oh it’s hard… but it could be harder
Sure it’s bad… but it could be…
…an avalanche I’m seeing in slow motion
rolling down the slope to bury me
Or a spark in the dark illuminating
then exploding everything I see…
I’m in between the life I love and who I’m paid to be
I slice and dice my work and my play
I know that soon the piper comes a-calling
I’m just stalling, stonewalling Judgment Day
I’m just stalling, stonewalling Judgment Day
I’m just stalling, stonewalling Judgment Day

Nice with the getaway imagery and I enjoyed this very much, nice take on the theme. The an avalanche section is very well written too, some.good imagery again

that's a fine lyric. needs reading properly. i like the use of words like tightrope, stability and juggling all hidden in the one verse. Clever stuff
