They/them
Been doing industrial and power noise on and off since 2005 and glitchy triphop breakbeat (altho still somewhat industrial) stuff since 2009 and techno since 2021
Last FAWM I produced this album under my industrial project and sounds like this: https://virallode.bandcamp.com/
This year I'll be producing 14 songs in an ambient, dramatic, film score sort of vibe because I've been doing this lately and I'm enjoying it so why not.
My studio has got a bit bigger since last year - my gear includes
-Macbook Pro 2020
- Focusrite Scarlet 18/20
- Ableton Live 11 Suite + Push 2
- Native Instruments Komplete
-iPAD Air running AUM and LK as host and sequencer with Launchpad Mini and Korg Nanokey Studio
- A very small Eurorack modular (ES-8, Erica Sample Drum, Beads, NE BIA, Behringer Neutron)
- Roland V-Synth XT
- A whole bunch of MIDI controllers
I'll also be streaming most of what I do for FAWM over here, why not swing by? https://www.twitch.tv/tomgage

hiya, thank you for taking the time and commenting on Spaceship Coffeeshop! You make such cool cinematic stuff!
Hey Tom! The Maschine + Ableton flow is pretty great once you learn some tricks. Honestly being just in Maschine *without* Ableton is a phenomenal workflow until you have to use the piano roll or edit individual notes - but if I practiced it I'm sure I'd get good at it. But again, some tricks (and if you're not partial to the pure Maschine workflow as I am) and it's pretty damn good. My main complaint is that I can't simultaneously use its play and record buttons to control Ableton's transport while also using it as a plugin. You can do one or the other, but in pure Maschine workflow, it does it all. But it's not a DAW, so I can only go so far in that mode. Pretty far actually ;)
My track record with NI is somewhat spotty, been with Reaktor since v3, Komplete since v2, but they've killed some products that were so amazing and I used a LOT so I'm no fanboy, but Maschine really does feel like a pretty complete system, no pun intended ;)
The thing I've read about Maschine+ is that if you already own the software (as I do) it's a harder sell 'cuz it's like a grand if you own the software or not. I've been leaning hardware a bit lately but honestly it's the right tool for the right job. Never will give up the Matriarch but also don't see myself working without a DAW.
M+ is def a step toward a DAWless environment, which is great because even with the MK3 my monitor turns off every single time and I'm just using the hardware. YMMV but I really like it.
Cheers!
