Influences: Some of the following have written music I love: Miles Davis, Steve Reich, Annie Lennox, Prince, Laurie Anderson, Grace Jones, Nina Symone, Burt Bacharach, Gil Evans, And loads of other people too!!
Hello all. Im tunecat - but also HMH (honeymoonhill).
Last year was the ‘funnest’ so far and can’t wait for 2022. Up for collaborating either lyrics or music or some other way…?
Last years biog was lengthy just gonna keep it simple this year . Here’s to an amazing 2022!!
Add: week 1 seems to have been all about documenting and creating ‘in real time’..
weeks two and three seem to have followed in same vein except for Bertha Boronda collab.
hoping in next 5 days to complete all pending projects
FAWM 2021 is on soundcloud ( and YouTube)
FINAL DAYS:
I challenge myself to get back or nearly back to where I was in 2018 with my signature weirdness - at least one song/track like tgat before March. At least one live trumpet and electronics, one dulcimer, one melodica, one recorder … oh two many goals. Do you think? Oh well. At least I’m
Feeling happier I think my writing has got a bit more flowy. And I’ve ended up with a zillion videos of apps being used live !
My video collab https://fawm.org/songs/136848/. I don't think I can add to my page now.
Thank you for your comments on Spaceship Coffeeshop :D you make really cool beats. Downloading the Beatwaveapp now haha, and whatever else you'd recommend
Hey Liz! Thanks for giving "Valentine" a listen. Yeah, the protagonist/antagonist isn't a very nice guy is he? Purely fictitious of course! :)
Hi, Liz! Here's the song: https://fawm.org/songs/134976/
Thank you for giving a listen and sharing your feedback on my music!
Thanks for explaining! There are so many interesting tools to make music out there :)
Thanks for the listen and comments on "The Last Five Minutes" and "My Daughter Went to Totalcon" I appreciate it!
"Let's go for a holiday" comment which you otherwise won't have in your archive!!! "I need to stop watching the video because the technicalities of getting that right keep overshadowing the song which is a sweetie, with a lovely hopeful vocal and excellent full-bodied backing. Kudos to you all!"
Thank you so so much for stopping by, and please don't apologize on the "belatedly" front... clearly you've been busy! Time for me to catch up on you.
Hey, thanks for your comments on my songs. And I would love to collaborate on something. I am just doing promo now for the album I have put out of the best of these FAWM songs that I have done, and once that is all done in a few weeks, I am gonna start work on my next big project.
I'd be very open to working on anything that you want to release too!
You've done some serious FAWMing here. Will dive into it tonight.
Peace
I found that video really fascinating. I know nothing about electronic music at all, so I don't know what you were doing. Maybe I can talk to some people over 50/90 just to hear about the process.
Thank you so much for the lovely keyboard on our 4way video collab - I think we made a lovely song together - was so much fun! maybe next FAWM we can do something together - I love your style!
Hi there, just to say how much I liked the keyboard part on the 4 video challenge song. It was a very tasteful jazz/funk contribution.
That's a trip we both chose age 11 in our songs!
Thanks so much for your comments on my song Photographs. I appreciate them. I am rushing to complete my pile of ideas, but I plan to use March as Album Listening Month and I will check back! You appear to be very prolific!
Hey, thanks, but the link you posted on my forum thread is still not working.
I'm getting this error whenever I click on it...
Hey Liz - sent you an email this morning, not chasing, just want to make sure it arrived ok as it has attachments! Cheers.
This is FAWM. There are no rools. (Actually there are, but not to do with writing songs!!)
Thank you! (I knew my moderator hat didn't usually show!) (and @ajna1960 hasn't given me my two gold stars for both mention moderators and breaking cover too!)
Got the video - perfect! Thanks.
EDIT: ignore my previous message about the audio - just read your email properly!
Just pinged you a reply!
Great! Thank you! My email for the minute it's ready: wolfkier/gmail.
Ah good. I sent one on the 21st too--wonder what happened to it?
I sent it (twice) to the email in your profile. Is that not right? Have you looked in spam? If it's not there, email me (address in profile) and I'll reply.
Are you still playing GIMME15? https://fawm.org/forums/topic/12764/
Waiting on your piece of GIMME15 gamma so we can complete.
my email is wolfkier/gmail
:)
Thanks for your comments on my skirmish. It does sound like some cheesy ROMCOM -lol. Of course, those movies do have a way of make us feel good in the end.
Going to hear your song now!
And yes, it is length of gardenhose with a trumpet mouthpiece. My dad gifted it to me.
Thanks for your support on this FAWM journey! Yeah. my daughter is 11, and so that age is in the song entirely for her benefit.
No problem re the video - you can only do what you can do! I emailed a version that's developed a little, but I wanted to make sure that you had the opportunity to do something if you wanted to, and not do what I would normally do and just layer guitars till there's no space left for anything else! Just let me know either way how you get on.
Hey @tunecat - hope you're well. Have you seen the emails about the video and do you know if you'll have time to send anything over? I may run out of time very soon to pull the video together by end of Feb... It's no problem if you'll not have time, just let know. Cheers!
Thanks for your inciteful offerings on "If You Go To Ireland", "Coconut Sam" and "Before the Whistle Blows". If you like Haiku, check out my first offering "Dust written in Haiku. I'm trying to start a new genre - Songu (haiku in song)
So, I'm trying to grasp what you do.. It's sort of like a lesson in how to use mixing technology? That's my big weakness!.
You Suck Me In has been musicated ! https://fawm.org/songs/134302/
Oh, hi! No problem re: leaving a comment meant for Robyn! It's always nice to meet a new FAWMer. I haven't been able to participate as intensely this year as I'd like and I've mostly had to bow out for the rest of this month, for the most part. But, yes, it's always nice to meet new people here and I'm glad you accidentally left those comments! I'm busy putting out some fires this and next week but I'd like to come back here maybe in March and check out some of your stuff! (And thank you, also, for your comments on "F*ck Your Money" Parts II and III )
Sorry for the delay here is my 10 sec (or so0 for the the They Just Keep Coming Weirdo Corpse thing
https://soundcloud.com/pipe-wrench/they-just-keep-coming-last-10
thanks for checking out "under"! glad @nadine let me express my heavy side this FAWM!
hey tunecat your skirmish video wont play
Thank you for the kind comment! I agree, sometimes our best ideas come to us when we just start writing instead of worrying about the outcome of the song!
Thanks for your comments on "Under" and "Rendezvous". There's still a lot of work left on these songs after FAWM. Hopefully we can get some real guitar tracks!
@tunecat thanks for the collaboration on Bertha Boronda. I really love the New Orleans jazz vibe you gave it. Superb!!!
Thanks for the comment on The Worst Feeling. I wasn't necessarily writing about ADHD, but it totally could be mixed in there with all the various Ds I've experienced.
Thank you! I will try to treat it nicely!
Thanks for your comment! May your headphone struggles be minimal :D
Thanks for listening
Hey, apologies for getting back to you so late. I only just noticed there were some new replies in my collab album thread.
I clicked on the link you posted in the thread, but it's not working.
Anything you want to send is cool with me, and you can either speak it, sing it, or perform it any other way you want. Just let me know if you want me to keep the vocal as it is and build aroun dit, or if you want me to chop it up and 'randomise' it.
Thank so much!
Thanks for the kind comments on At Your Command! I don't know how @nadine gets such authentic sound from her instrumentation! She's a sound wizard I'm convinced
Hi, I’ve sent you an email with lyrics.
Thanks for listening "At your command" and commenting. I'm glad you enjoyed the song! Oh yes, this one became epic and I am very proud what @chrismyth02 did there. We were mutually inspired.
Thanks for your comment!
Thanks for the comment on "Waiting"
Hi, yes, we’re random collaboration partners. What would you like to do, lyrics or music. I’m happy with either.
Thanks for the comment on 'Something Wicked'!
@tunecat I have copied off Haiku, Sushi, Star of the show and 10 reasons..
I shall try and use some or all of them, thanks for getting them out of your head and writing them down
If I use your words can I chop them up?
There are a couple I'd like to play with - but they are a quite long?
and I like some verses more than others? I might even put some of my own words in too if that's ok? Don't worry if it's not, I'll respect your artistic integrity :)
Thanks for the kind words on Old.
Thanks for the kind comment :)
WOW! You've been really productive! I have lots of catching up to do. :-)
Okay, should be sent. Let me know if you didn't get it and I can just upload it to a link or something as well.
Just checking in on the instrumental corpse from https://fawm.org/forums/topic/12407/ as it has a ? by your name. I have the snippets so can send a 10s if you didn't already receive one.
Thanks for your comments on Voyage Of The Vulva-Verse. Much appreciated.
Well, sorry if I dissappoint, but everything is made by computer
Thank you for the comment
thanks for the great reaction to Colombia 92, it's a real story, from a guy I met on a campsite in France, he was in his twenties by then and we got chatting
Hi tunecat thanks for the comment and the software i am using is Ableton
Thanks for the listen and the comment on 10x 10. Glad you got an early morning charge out of it!
ahhh hey lovely. So good to see you back. This is my first working sort of full time whilst doing fawm attempt and its frying my brain and was so lovely to see and hear you comment. hope you're well and wow 25!!! you are having fun. can't wait to dive in when i got my full on listening brain on. Or any brain ;-)
hah! yeah, good to have a bit of fun here for sure.
Thank you for listening to and writing such kind words about my two songs "Freedom" and "Disintegration". I appreciate it.
I'm pleased you liked the video for Talk to the Mountain; I must say that song was cathartic for me to write, it helped me express some things I didn't know I needed to express, so thank you for bringing it to life with me!
Hi Tunecat, tried checking out your FAWM 2 tune, but the video is listed as unavailable. If you can get the demo to load, I’d love to give it a listen.
Kewl! Thanks, don't think I have anything atm that would fit but I'll see what I come up with :)
Hi, thanks for commenting on my opposite pair write.
I wanted to commented on the post you had up for the skirmish, but noticed there was nothing posted. I'll check back later.
Hi @tunecat - hope you're well! I wanted to check to see if you got the emails about the 4-video challenge? I used the address from above, so am hoping that's right!
Thanks for your comment on "Dust". What do you mean with busy? The arrangement?
Thanks for giving my "Emergency" a spin.
Ah, I might feel the same way as you about the depressing "consumers forever" line. But that was how my narrator was feeling stuck in the queue. He will probably feel better when he gets home with whatever it was his wife sent him to get... or suicidal if he doesn't :-)
Thank you so much for coming to listen and your lovely comment! :)
Happy FAWMing!! Hope you have a productive February
Hi Liz! :-)
