    Are you anywhere near Clio?

  • @dzdandcunfsd  Mar 2022

It sure couldn't have hurt it LOL.

  • @dzdandcunfsd  Mar 2022

There was that ding on the top horn... common enough, but there was also a MASSIVE chunk gone from the headstock(I shut it in a car door LOL)

  • @dzdandcunfsd  Mar 2022

Yeah I sent the guy who was selling it a message and sure enough he bought it from an estate sell in Minnesota, the same state I shipped that one to from a guy who he said collected them. So that and the dings in all the same spots I'm pretty sure it was. He said and for the right price it can be yours again! No thanks LOL.

  • @dzdandcunfsd  Mar 2022

and I'm sure it'll be good for a good lo-fi jangly rhythm track now and again!

  • @dzdandcunfsd  Mar 2022

That's hilarious! I would of bought it too, and if I didn't already know how trashy that trem system was and how horrible those pickups are and well just about everything about it I'd probably think it was beautiful too! Sometime in the last few years I stumbled upon my exact same DelRey again( I recognized one massive gash out of the headstock) It was in an online estate sale from a guy who collected 60s-70s Teisco's (A little better quality but not by much) Same pickups, there were just 4, and same trem/etc. I traded it straight across to the guy for a Mexican made Mustang(that had some body damage but nothing serious) in the early days of the internet. Whoever was selling it now wanted a little over 1K. I was tempted until I saw the price LOL. I guess I do like that things pickguard LOL but just looking at it I can feel that cheap and poorly machined metal of all its aluminum(more than likely) parts lol.

Thanks for the kind comment on "A Tribute".

  • @elainedimasi  Mar 2022

Telling you. Got in my car to drive home, swapped out the English Beat CD, and yeah that was track 4. Muse is still operational :-)

  • @elainedimasi  Mar 2022

This one is so wonderful I just have to let you know

  • @stuartbenbow  Feb 2022

Done with hours to spare. Phew.

  • @guatecoop  Feb 2022

Hey we did what’s in the water…. I have the drum sounds pretty dialed in….I’m down—Also, I'm certainly willing and able to do bass if you want me to do more than just the drums...Whatever you think...Just send me an MP3 when you get the music done and let me know what you're looking for!

  • @radioovermoscow Feb 2022

    Thanks again!

  • @janeukey  Feb 2022

Thanks for the lovely feedback on Post Modern Love Story! Getting old? Lol - join the club :D

  • @jeff9  Feb 2022

Thanks once again, Tom, for the encouraging words on "Mean". To write even one line that evokes Tom Waites for someone is a huge victory for me.

  • @datsch  Feb 2022

Thanks for the nice words. I see you sitting pretty with 14 already, nice work!

  • @jeff9  Feb 2022

Thank you, Tom, for checking out my stuff and for the kind words. Probably I mis-labeled "Carly" as "shoegaze" but I like your idea of "country shoegaze", especially since everything I sing is intrinsically countrified. In fact, that song started out with a chord progression from someone else who wanted to try and do a mashup of country and lo-fi hip-hop. We're still trying to figure out exactly how to do that.

  • @whispermouse  Feb 2022

Thanks for listening to "Calling Out Your Name" - that effect you're hearing on the chorus vocal is iZotope Vocal Doubler which can be subtle if you want it to be, but is cranked way up here. Glad you liked it!

  • @franniezest  Feb 2022

Thanks for your D chord appreciation! You might be into my secret which is I mostly just play the chords I know how to play most easily !!!

  • @fuzzy  Feb 2022

Nope. TCM sometimes shows weird educational or training films in the middle of the night. I record em and steal the dialogue. :)
I never know what I'm gonna get until I watch em.

  • @fuzzy  Feb 2022

You honestly want to know what His Terrible Knowledge was??
OK, I stole that sound clip from an "educational" film about drugs; this school kid found a heroin overdose victim and some other kids pressured him to keep quiet. :/
Not really sure what they were thinking showing these films to kids back in the day.
I kinda like the mystery of it in the song, though.

  • @dock  Feb 2022

Thanx for your comments on my song The Conjuring. Sorry to hear your family is ill. I hope for a good recovery for you/them.

  • @majormajormajormajor  Feb 2022

Wow, that's interesting- I tried a whole bunch of low watt tube amps when that started to become trendy(wanted to run two of em for a stereo setup) and found all of them to have that brittle, fizzy element to their gain that ruins the sound for me completely. But I never did get to try the Class 5 before I found that Ac-30 clone I still have and gave up on the stereo small amp thing. Seems like I ought to circle back.

  • @kcc  Feb 2022

Hi Toms! Thanks for listening and commenting on Into the Well. I'm way late to the party but hope to post a few more!

    KC

  • @metalfoot  Feb 2022

I have been productive but not nearly at the frenetic pace of the past few years. So that's OK.

  • @sbs2018  Feb 2022

Good to hear it sounds good without headphones. One of my favorites!. And lol on the red sequined shirt!

  • @dreamscuba  Feb 2022

Thanks for your comments on Voyage Of The Vulva-Verse. Much appreciated. The supro thunderbolt is a pedal in a box (JHS SuperBolt). I dig the tones from it.

  • @fuzzy  Feb 2022

Still getting up the courage to download that vocoder. :)

  • @barbara  Feb 2022

    Arg! That’s a keeper!

  • @barbara  Feb 2022

Well in a few days it’ll be on discount, and even a lousy melody will get it out the door!
I kid. Thanks for your comment! :)

  • @headfirstonly  Feb 2022

The distorted chords are the Fly; everything else is that Squier 20th Anniversary Affinity Strat I picked up second-hand recently. So much fun to play.

  • @sph  Feb 2022

Thanks for listening! Hope to catch up on listening too!

  • @mikeb  Feb 2022

Thanks for the listen and comment on 'Fire Inside'! (!!!!)

  • @fuzzy  Feb 2022

I might fall down the vocoder rabbit hole.
How might this proposed collab come together?

  • @resonut123 Feb 2022

Thanks for the nice comment on my song: Correlation. That was a fun one to do.

  • @mikeb  Feb 2022

Thanks for the listen and comment on my new rock opera song. I'm way ahead of your thought about reusing the song at the end! The great thing about the r-o format is you are free to re-use pieces of songs as 'reprises'.

  • @beat  Feb 2022

    ;].

  • @downburst  Feb 2022

No, "caustic" is a positive thing here!

  • @beat  Feb 2022

Hi, good morning and happy fawming.

    Exactly!

  • @radioovermoscow Feb 2022

  • @judypie  Jan 2022

Haha I am v happy to hear this as I was guffawing to myself (like a loser) as I did it :p Glad I wasn’t the only one to enjoy! :D

  • @guatecoop  Jan 2022

I like mine after the swap. I use them often. Hopefully you will too…or sell it with “the Burr Brown mod” and you’ll get more for it

  • @jorgevallentine Jan 2022

    Hi from Milwaukee!

  • @tamsnumber4  Jan 2022

Hope you have a great FAWM!

  • @guatecoop  Jan 2022

Yup. I guess the 627s are coveted Burr Browns and are even counterfeited. Too pricey for me when I was just trying out something new. Maybe sometime. If you look up opamp swap for Presonus Eureka you will find all sorts of options and preferences. Another rabbit hole.

  • @guatecoop  Jan 2022

Exactly! They turned into really solid channel strips, though I don’t use the eq much. It can be good for some things. The input impedance I do use and the saturation I never ever do

  • @guatecoop  Jan 2022

Exactly why I did that upgrade. The opamps are socketed so you just pop them in. I did OPA604s I think, but lots of people like the 627s, but the price led me to the 604. The compressor is good though at the very least.
Yeah that Dano amp was a huge surprise, as I was expecting it to be like a Champ or my Silvertone 1482. Completely different and really cool sound.

  • @guatecoop  Jan 2022

Is that a Presonus Eureka on top? I have some of those and switched to opamps to burr Browns…..really nice and easy upgrade if you haven’t done it. Still love that UA610….oh, I got a super lucky find—I’m the second owner of a 1963 Danelectro Centurion for $50. Just needed a recap! It’s kind of a mix between a vox and a twin. Fabulous. Anything new for you?

  • @toms  Jan 2022

    um

  • @timfatchen  Jan 2022

    hihi!

  • @jeustan  Jan 2022

    Yes. :)

  • @headfirstonly  Jan 2022

Absolutely you may! I'm very much looking forward to hearing your musical stylings this year, sir!

  • @jeustan  Jan 2022

Hi! It is FAWM season. I am glad. Your music inspires me.

  • @elainedimasi  Jan 2022

    So you did!

  • @johncrossman  Jan 2022

Toms is an anagram for most. Coincidence?

Also when I just Googled "anagram" after a moment of doubt that I was misusing it, Google asked me if I meant "nag a ram." I mean, when did Google get a sense of humor? And are we ok with that? Do you ever record a tune and then ask yourself, are we ok with that? Do you ever ask Google? Did you ever write a song called, "Are We Ok with That?" Seems like you might have. These are the things that come out of my fingers when I come over here and, yes, I hold you partly responsible.

    Madison misses you too!

  • @adnama17  Jan 2022

    TOM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! FAWM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    It rhymes. Coincidence????

  • @zecoop  Jan 2022

Hey you... over there... I know you can hear me. We aren't that far away! Good to see you here again, my friend. Looking forward to hearing your tunes. Maybe we'll tune together. It could happen. :)

  • @andygetch  Jan 2022

    Lets. Do. This.

  • @judypie  Jan 2022

Oh maaannmm, that’s a missed opportunity! Ichabod says hi :)

  • @postcardhelicopters  Jan 2022

Is that a spring or plate reverb on your bio?

  • @judypie  Jan 2022

I have a cat called Ichabod Crane so excellent band name

  • @fuzzy  Jan 2022

    Hey yourself!
    Have a most excellent FAWM!!
