Artist Bio

Influences:   I love almost all music genres. I grew up listening pop and rock music like so many other teenagers. Heavy metal also came to my life at some point but when I heard the first blues songs ever in my life, big band music and swing, I was sold. Muddy Waters, Billie Holiday, George Gershwin, Glenn Miller. Nowadays indie music, folk, neo and electro swing are close to my heart but then again I'm not that genre loyal. These I also love: Piirpauke - Konevitsan kirkonkellot (1975), Bear McCreary - Theme from Defiance.

I'm kinda drawn to making weird songs, the type that sound all nerdy, but as long as I get at least one... two... or perhaps 14 songs done in one month, I'm happy. So we'll see how this all goes and which direction my head wants to take me.

    Kiitti kommenteista! :)

Try Songs (2002) and 11:11 (2001) -- so raw and real and often acapella, or any of her other early work if those aren't avaiable anymore.

So glad you like it! And congrats on hitting 14 songs!

  • @iwilleatyou Feb 2022

No fooling around now. Get to it!

  • @iwilleatyou Feb 2022

You know what? That's actually a good idea and I'm not fooling around here. ASMR is big business on youtube. If I were you I'd open a channel, call it Sleepy Records and do your acapella songs. You can mix it up with other relaxing sounds as well. It would take a couple of years to build up but if you comment on others works etc. you can do this. I got really relaxed listening to your song. My head is racing with logo ideas you can do for Sleepy Records.

    Ah ok. Got it.
    1. Sunny
    2. Vacuum
Sunny inside the vacuum. Or something.

  • @datsch  Feb 2022

Oh that's so cool, thank you. I have sent you an email.

  • @datsch  Feb 2022

Hey, my next song needs a Finnish title, It needs to be Crow's Copse (small woddland) and google says that would be ' Varis Coppi'

Is that anything close? Do you fancy singing or writing some lines?

  • @judypie  Feb 2022

Hahaha you are cracking me up. I love the idea of a suite of egg slicer, broken melodica and a faucet :D I recorded my bath draining yesterday for an instrumental I’m working on cos my throat is currently dying a death! We need to find you a rawk collaber!

  • @judypie  Feb 2022

Well I love what you have done so far :D

  • @judypie  Feb 2022

I hate how much time I spend stalking on Instagram following people I don’t know, I get so down when I realise I just spent HOURS OF MY DAY scrolling through their posts! Your song pretty much nails how I feel but I’m not sure I know how to put music to it sadly!

  • @judypie  Feb 2022

Ha, girl if I knew, I would tell you! :D

  • @judypie  Feb 2022

Haha amazing, I am in bed ill at the moment listening but I so wanna get up and play that thing :D

I think you might benefit from https://hookpad.hooktheory.com

I pay for the service, but you can experiment with melody and chords in an easy visual manner even with what's available for free.

I've thought of using this with some of my quick acapella melodies, but then treating the melody as a sketch that doesn't need precise transcription. (Does the next note go up or down compared to the last? That sort of thing.)

Also, lo-fi acapella is a fantastic way to record a melody. It's like a poor person's sheet music. Never be afraid to record it. I usually tag it "lofi acapella," but when I started doing FAWM I was really intimidated comparing my stuff to other people's stuff, so I called it "crapcapella."

The thing is, a person can cover a crapcapella song and it will still sound like _your_ song.

It is good to see you back this year!
