I have been a FAWM winner for several years, yielding a few go-to ditties for the open mic crowd. New this year, I recently discovered my great-grandmother was a song writer as I have found a few of her writings from 1937ish. I plan to rearrange and dress them up (known as a derivative work) and make them co-writes, bridging the generations. Also, I have lived another year since last FAWM, and who knows how this last year will present itself in new songs.

Thanks for listening to How Far I Fell, and leaving an interesting comment. I wasn’t thinking about substance abuse when I wrote it, but a lot of the sounds are weird, so not surprising it makes you think of that. I think my idea about this guy is that he’s just cold and contemptuous about everyone and everything. But he might be that way because of drug dependence, that’s an interesting thought.
