Influences: Bach, The Beatles, The Kingston Trio, Buffalo Springfield, Pink Floyd, my baby grand piano, life long membership in various choirs and ensembles, my family & faith journey
I am a happily married father of 4 great kids and grandfather of 9. Done a lot of things during my short life: high school teacher, soldier, pastor, logger, tree planter, climate activist, ski bum, blueberry grower, off and on poet and songwriter. During Covid I got involved with NSAI and fawm and finally got some of my poetry and songs published. You can find them online on Soundcloud under my proper name: William (Bill) Thwing. I like doing collabs occasionally
Hey, Bill - Streaming sounds very cool. I'll send you an email.
Hey, Bill - it was great getting to collaborate with you. Looking forward to next year. Enjoy the off-months.
Hi, I sent you the information via your email. Please let me know if you did not receive it! Thanks for streaming the song!!! Liz
Yeah, you gotta work with what you have, and you do it well :)
Oh sure that would be fine! Let me check my emails!
Thank you everybody and especially Burr and all those who insured the proper management of FAWM 2022. Special thanks to Kahlo (Liz Petty) and Nancycunning (Nancy Cunningham) for the opportunity to collaborate with you on a couple of your lyric sets. Also to Kathy Moran (whose lyrics I still have but have not yet put to music). God willing this will occur before FAWM 2023. Also, thanks for all those talent composers, lyricists, mixers and producers who offered me encouragement over this month. I was pleased with my song production which exceeded my FAWM 2021 production and look forward to producing even more in FAWM 2023
Cool! I emailed you my email address!
Hi and thank you for taking a look at those lyrics. I'm planning on catching up on listening to your songs and at least several fawm friends. This month flew by, as usual, and I haven't participated as often as I might have as offline things have taken up much more fawm time than usual and that's ok. The plan is to put up a few sets of lyrics for ideas I've been walking around with lately.
I'll check for your email and look forward to keeping in touch after fawm is done. I hope you and yours are all well and looking forward to spring! :)
Thank you for listening. Zuid Africa/South Africa
Bill - Thanks for posting What Can You Do. I like it. 3/4 time is a neat choice, and I like how you play and sing it. Great collaborating with you again.
Hey, Bill - You had also mentioned at some point that you were interested in doing something for Iron That Shirt. I might have scared you off at the time, but if you'd like to I'd love to hear it. The more the merrier.
Bill - I'm excited to hear you're interested in writing something for As for You. @downburst may also post a version for it.
Hi . Thanks fir stopping by- I do do normal songs but this year it seems mostly I’m writing on my phone. Bertha Boronda is piano and vocal ! The reason all my stuff is video is simple- its easy to upload onto YouTube
Thanks for listening to Funny! I don't generally play piano so what's recorded feels really raw to me. But I appreciate you providing feedback
Hi - if you'd like to add some music to "Takes Me Back to a Time", by all means please do. It's okay to change things up a bit, too, if that helps it make things fit.
Thanks! And yes, I would love a collaborator to do music on my Ireland song! And thanks for your nice comment on my attempt at vocals. I look forward to your version!
Bill - I love it. I added some comments along with yours. Hooray and Thank you.....
Hi, Bill - thank you so much for the wonderful note! I have been tied up with a few things in the past couple of weeks but have some ideas that have been waiting and will be getting on the board shortly. I saw your fb request and replied, too! I hope you and yours are safe and well.
Hi bill! Thanks for your comment on No A! Yes you can definitely send it to your son. I will say I can tell you right now it’s going on this album I’m working on (working title “wise fool”) so y’all are welcome to follow me on my Instagram/ email list of you want to keep posted on the final version!
Glad you're going to work on music for Nature and Nurture. Can't wait to hear it.
Thank you for your comment on the, 'Don't be shy' song.
My friend loved growing up in Johnstown. I went to high school further east, near where the Susquehanna crosses I-80, More cows than coal, but not far from Shamokin, which maybe has a lot in common with Johnstown.
Thanks for your comment. The kamalen Ngoni is a pentatonic harp with a calabash as resonator. It s from West Africa.
Hey, thanks so much for offering to create something for Iron Your Shirt. @bobestes just posted a version of it here https://fawm.org/songs/131388/
I would love to work on a collaboration together. I can post a few things, or if you've got a particular theme or tempo or keyword or style or an existing piece of music you'd like words to, I can customize.
Lol on not taking your music away!
Certainly, you are welcome to grab my lyric and add music.
Indeed, “Trying to survive” was a collab with Liz. I luckily stumbled on the lyrics quickly and she consented to me setting them to music.
Thanks for the listens and comment!
Thanks for your kind words about my Daddy I'm in Love song. It's a telecaster I'm playing. Cheers!
Hi Bill, thanks so much for checking out all my lyrics. I have almost all in collaborations already. I will definitely be writing more throughout the month. Feel free to let me know if you find one of interest and we can collab. Andrea
Thanks for the kind words on “My First Song”
Thank you so much for listening and for your kind words
Hey, thanks for the tip on Free Fawming. I somehow posted my channel and not the song in another instance. You can see the song in another place. I left the channel up as another instance, so as not to mess anything up.
